I will try Amagi Brilliant Park, I had enjoyed the animation some years ago
-
@renofury Just remember that the Amabri anime used many parts of the novels to spin a slightly different narrative, on a more compressed time line. Things do not happen in the same order.
Having some time between watching and reading avoids many of the, "Why didn't X happen?" moments. Lots of different Xs happen, but in a different context, at a different time.

I really want to buy Amagi and Kokoro, so no catch up on those for me this month.
I don't know if I'll jump back into Seirei.
-
I actually want to read LDM all over again cause I really enjoy the story.
That being said it hasn’t been that long since I read V1 so the story is still fresh in my head, I own all the books so it won’t be an issue but maybe on my lunch break this week I will just breeze through V1P1 again.
-
I’d read 7/8 parts of Seirei Gensouki before it expired (I took some months off from LNs last year) and so I just finished the last part now, great story! I’ll try to read at least vol 2 this month. Maybe more. There’s something I really like about this one.
I’ve read about half of Amagi vol 1 before so I’ll finish that too. Might read LDM 2. I own Kokoro 2 so there’s not the rush
-
I dropped Seirei Gensouki after finishing volume 1. It's the only catch up this month I'm not current on. Did it get good?
-
Noooo, I wasn't done with Dendrogram! >_<
I thought I'd still be safe for a few days because April catchup started so late...argh.Nothing for me in May. AmaBri and Kokoro Connect were the reason I joined, so I'm caught up there, and the other two are not my thing.

I'll hope Mixed Bathing shows up on catchup next month.
Yea, it would be nice to refresh the memory before the new volume starts.
Nothing for me from the offered selection, but then again, there aren't that many series I read here anyway. -
ugh realist hero vol 10 coming up next month
and the vol 9 just start recently....
i guess vol 10 english will also finish when vol 11 out in japan again

I think so. It's more fun since he's no longer being abused by the corrupt nobles and forced to restrain himself to fit in.

Honestly speaking those were some of my favorite times reading Seirei, it really made itself distinct in my opinion. I also actively look forward to when Rio meets up with the nobles again and...we see some high and mighty people reminded that they are mortal.
-
@rahul-balaggan Yeah that was definitely my favorite part - it gives the character a totally legitimate kryptonite. I’m bummed to hear it moves past that, and though I’ll read volume 2 I’m definitely less sure that I’m interested in catching up with the whole series

I agree that volume 1's events were a nice breaking of the usual cliches.
I'm looking forward to the reunion where he no longer has to hold back. Once all of the current prepub has been translated that's at the top of my reading list.

The whole beat down by nobles seemed a bit wash, rinse repeat.
When he begins the journey it’s much better.

@someoldguy thanks for the advice, yes that can't be helped but at least I forgot a lot of the anime version so it shouldn't be too bad.

Whelp May is almost over so I'd thought I'd take the time to start predictions for June's catchup and discuss what I thought of this month's series.
For June's catchup, this month they continued with the trend of mostly going up the acquisition order list, although they noticeably hopped over Elf Bride. I'm hoping that one will get a catchup, especially now that the second manga volume is finally starting to come out. Further up the acquisition order list there's not many series left that have more than 2-3 volumes out, so either this month or next I imagine they'll start going back to some of the oldest series. Maybe they'll stick one long, older series such as Realist or Grimgar with one or two of the newer, shorter ones left.
For this month's catchup, I was rather disappointed with Seirei Gensouki, although I'll still probably follow it for the time being to see if it gets better. I had high hopes from the manga that's out but the main character ended up a bit too bland and I wasn't a fan of the harem forming. I found Lazy Dungeon Master pretty fun to read despite the gender imbalance and the questionable "Niku", and although its not something I would buy I plan to keep up with it as long as it stays interesting and doesn't take a sharp lewd turn. I read the first two volumes of Kokoro Connect and thought they were okay, although I don't think I'll finish unless it comes on again and I have nothing else to do as it didn't really grab me past the first volume. I would have liked it to be just a bit darker. As for Amagi Brilliant Park, I didn't really get around to it and probably won't this time around since I need to finish preparing for the June LSAT.

@harmlessdave just finished Kokoro definitely one of the best here.
-
And we have reached June! Although it usually takes a few days for the catch-up titles to be updated. Who's in charge of catchups, btw? Does Sam decide them and then one of the website people updates them, or is there like a separate catch-up committee, or is it just whoever gets to it first?
-
@yumenokage I believe Sam makes the final choice, not sure if he asks anyone else for suggestions.
Also he was the one who toggled them on and off, but maybe the individual they recently hired will now be handling that...?

June 2019 catchups:
- Elf Bride
- Der Werwolf
- Cooking with Wild Game
- Paying to Win in a VRMMO
