Assassins Pride

It’s been nearly a year and a half since the Amagi announcement, and I don’t believe JNC has licensed a single Kadokawa title ever since. Hopefully Amagi’s and Kokoro’s low sales didn’t hurt the relationship or something...
-
@legitpancake Full Metal Panic!, Altina the Sword Princess...
-
@myskaros Nevermind then. I think I just forgot that FMP was, but I was unaware about Altina.
-
what FMP and Altina (and Amagi for that matter) have in common is that they are not new, current/popular anime franchises
-
I'm surprised this hasn't been picked up by someone. Is the anime doing that poorly? (I have no idea where to look to see the commercial value of a running anime.)
-
@farmerdad It's unlikely we'll see a license announcement this early.
Usually its either way in advance like Goblin Slayer, or sometime after during a major anime con.
Or it has already been licensed, but they're not announcing it yet because they're saving it for a future con.
-
@farmerdad It would likely be a huge flop to be honest, even though I still enjoy it. The anime skipped like 80% of each volume at max and 50% at least, from my perspective. Not to mention the horrid quality of the animation too.

Does that affect the Japanese market as much as it bothers the American market?
-
@farmerdad Well at worst, there would be no visible improvement on the number of sales. This doesn't affect much on the existing fans but for the English license, I don't know tbhn. Regardless, Assassin Pride is supported quite well in JP already so it can be a factor too.

After watching the anime so far and comparing LN illustrations, from what I can tell yeah, they rushed the first 2 books and skipped volume 3-4 in favor of doing volume 5. Although the anime is a mess, the setting does interest me and I like the characters. I can only see this as Jnovel saving the title in the west or yen picking it up as a late license(which if theres isn't an announcement soon its probably anybody's up for grab). Gonna upvote just in case, I just don't like the idea of something with 11 volumes ongoing to be ignored. Much like some other series in kadokawas catalog.
On another note apparently the story is heavily influenced by older American and British books so that is saying something.
-
With the anime being almost over and thus the hype dying down I doubt we will get it. Sad how some companies still don't care for the anime being the biggest marketing campain. But then again, it's also in the Kado Dungeon.
-
I keep holding out hope that it will get picked up by JNC, YP, or SS at some point.
-
I would love for both the LN and manga to be picked up. It's safe to say that the anime didn't get the best reviewits 3 stars on mal and I recently saw an article calling it garbage wrapped in trash but I still hope the LN and/or manga gets translated. Oh and how do you know when a suggestion has been licensed before the newsletter?

Licensed by J-Novel? Usually announced on Twitter and sometimes livestreamed on Twitch. But everything J-Novel licenses gets announced on Twitter and later grouped into an article on AnimeNewsNetwork. For other publishers, new licenses are always announced on Twitter, and ANN always reports on them.
-
fun show, I'd like to read more of it. The anime was so thin on world building it was a bit frustrating. I'd pick this one up.
-
Wouldn't mind seeing this title get picked up, but I have no understanding of how companies in Japan have business relationships and such.
Just gonna add myself to the list of people out there so the fine folks at JNC know there is potential market demand for this series.
-
Yes pls Assassins's pride would be greatly appreaciated. :D
Like really no one seems to want to pick this one up which is a huge shame. :D
-
Don't know if possible but I would really love this light novel to be licensed. I became instahooked by the manga
