Report (old) App Bugs Here!

I'll drop a few bugs here in the hope they get picked up sometime. There's some real annoying ones I'd personally like fixed soon though.
Using Android 9 on the OnePlus 6, with the (beta) build from the app store. Connectivity is always available (WiFi), as I always stream music when reading.
- Dark mode doesn't render text when opening a part, I have to switch to light theme, press apply, switch to dark theme, press apply to make it work. Opening with the other themes works fine.
This bug is my biggest annoyance atm - 7.1.1 stock on a Nexus 6 (yes, I badly need a new phone)
I am in the Android Beta program for the app & have whatever the latest version is as of 5min ago when I checked.I've had the progress on the part lost before too but it doesn't seem to happen every time, whereas the black text on black background dark mode bug happens every time you open a part or switch back to the app after doing something else. (older low RAM phone probably triggers this more for me than others with more RAM)

When I start a book on the app, the page is bugged out (black / gray text on black background, should be scrolling vertically, but it's horizontal, and it stops scrolling after a bit). You have to press those horizontal bars in the menu (bottom right on menu), click apply, then when it reloads you can press those horizontal bars again to change back to the viewing mode you want. It's kind of weird.
I'm in agreement with the posters above, posted that last month.
It's a dark mode exclusive? Maybe I'll switch to another mode since I don't look at the screen anyways, but yeah, that stinks for users that want to read at night. Hope it gets resolved. =[
-
The problems aren't exclusive to dark mode as even the Sepia won't remember your scrolling was vertical, and start horizontal (despite vertical being checked off in the settings). At least you can see the text, but yeah, you're going to have to reset the mode no matter what every time you start a part. =(
-
Yeah, that one is broken too. Only black on pure white works okayish. Perhaps they only test that one.
Let's just hope they fix the app soon, even though I've stopped expecting anything.

On Android 9 (Moto X4) turning the pages doesn't work - it shows the page turn animation, but then shows the original page still.
If you then 'tap' on the page (after the turn animation) this will sometimes load the next page, but not always.
Super annoying, hopefully can be addressed. :)
-
Not a bug, but a suggestion.
Could you add the current part's name to the top sliding window?
IE: Y'know, the part where you tap the top of the screen and it opens up options, add a little bit of text with what you're currently reading? I tend to put the tablet down and when I finish reading I'm like ... which part was that, again? :)
-
On Samsumg galaxy J3, 2 bugs which may be link:
- In horizontal mode the characters size is reduce compare to vertical mode which make it hard to read.
- When going from vertical to horizontal then back to vertical the app go back to the begining of the part. For exemple if i'm 88% in vertical then change to horizontal and go back to vertical i will be back to <10% when i try to turn the page.
Edit: no need to go back to vertical just going from vertical to horizontal or horizontal to vertical is enough to have the app go back to the begining of the part.

Samsung Note 8.
I tend to like leaving my app on night mode. But since like last month or two whenever I go into a new chapter it is completely black with nothing. However it seems like it's just a bug where it's night mode + black font.
A quick personal fix is to change it from night mode to something else and then change back again to fix the issue while in app. But every new chapter I change to I need to repeat the steps. -

A quick personal fix is to change it from night mode to something else and then change back again to fix the issue while in app. But every new chapter I change to I need to repeat the steps. If you don't want to change it to a brighter mode at night, changing the margins or whatever works too (the right side option). Since I just listen text to speech, the spacing / margin change doesn't really matter to me, so I just switch it every new part.
This is obviously a stopgap. Hopefully that glitch gets fixed.

The following applies to android beta 2.1.4 running on both a lenovo tab2 A10-70 (androdi 6) and a xiaomi Mi A1 (android 9).
Opening LN's in night mode causes both the background and text to be black, this doesn't change unless text parameters are changed e.g. switching to day mode and back.
Manga that have been read in the app do not show as having been read, those that have been read on the desktop show up correctly as having been read.Nice to haves would be dark mode for menus to avoid sudden glare at night and if a following chapter exists to be able to carry on without having to go back to the menu first.
Finally if possible to mark certain series to background download as they're released so I can start reading instantly wherever I am when I have the time. Thanks

Since October, the iPhone app version at least has been skipping the paragraph before any illustration. It does this with all titles and chapters including new releases. Because of this, if you want to read that paragraph, you have to go login to the actual website and get to the page there.
-
The app crash when clicking on a manga vol, likely because manga vol aren't list on the site.

Galaxy S9+, Android 9: cannot proceed past "Repaginating Splines." Tried reinstalling, no dice. Had Dark Mode in app on but still happens without.
(Simple mode does resolve this, but it is annoying to be sure.)

For a few weeks or even months now, at random instances when an italicised text appears, it gets cut out in the app and I only see >em em<. It's infuriating as I have to open the website on my laptop to see what it actually says... Phone model Xiaomi Redmi 4X.
Example of this happening - around 44-45% in Seirei Gensouki Volume 4 part 3, the italicized dialogue in paragraph with "The commander of the mercenary squad...".

That's usually not a problem with the app so much as it's a problem with the prepub HTML. If you ever run a prepub source through a validation tool, they're riddled with typos and mistakes on the markup level.

Sometimes I feel like people have some perfect bugless official JNC app from parallel universe, not the one that's available to me.
If you ever run a prepub source through a validation tool, they're riddled with typos and mistakes on the markup level.
In example he provided validator only points out some a bit of errors about <img>. And HTML markup errors aren't that common in prepubs.
-
They're really common, but they're usually non-fatal errors like unclosed paragraph tags or something. Things that won't cause any issues in the reader, but will cause an ePub made from prepub HTML to fail validation.

Hi there, I buy the series of light novel "I Saved Too Many Girls and Caused the Apocalypse: Volume 12" from google store. But I get the wrong story of " The Unwanted Undead Advantures" Can I get the true version as I already pay the price through the google play store. Thanks.
Also, the is no problem with any apps. Except the google apps cannot change the contains if you guys not change it first.

@shahrizat you should email support as it will be addressed faster then posting on the forums.

This is about the beta, so I know that it's still under construction, but I thought I might as well write it here for now. I tried searching for an already existing thread, but couldn't find one, so I'm sorry if somebody has already created a thread about this.
Whenever I try to read a pre-pub part in the app (with night-mode enabled) the whole page turns black. For the text to show up again, I usually need to change the background to the white or beige mode. (only tested with Ao Oni Vol 5 part 11-13)
This isn't a very big problem, but sure is annoying.
Edit: Changing the background to a lighter and then back to the dark one, also makes the chapter progress go back to 0%
