Report (old) App Bugs Here!

iPhone 7+
IOS 10.2.1All of a sudden no thumbnails are appearing for any of the books.
I tried turning my phone on and off and also deleting and redone loading the app to no success.I have also tried this on different Wi-Fi networks from around my office building, as well as just LTE.
Anyone else having these issues, or am I special?

@Rahul-Balaggan google "AWS", the world just ended (tl;dr j-novel uses some amazon's services and those are spectacularly broken for the time being, not exclusive to iStuff)
-
@_08 thanks for the heads up.
I guess it's a shank or be shanked world we live in now!
-
Yup!
Good news is that everything still works... just no pictures.
Text is fine! -
Network problems on android app aren't handled properly - it just shows empty lists and thinks you aren't logged in without reporting anything, app needs to be forcefully restarted when network is available again. You also get logged off after that. Most apps at least do connectivity check on startup through android services to avoid that.

For me it does not reload/update the info automatically so it has out of date percentages and doesn't show new files unless I properly close the app and re-open it.App seems to show percentage that it got from server, not the one that you may have read just recently in app.

Upgraded to Android 7.1.1 on my Nexus 6p and now whenever I am reading it saves the % I am at in the part, but when I try to open any part it always brings me back to the beginning.
Same, but only in vertical scrolling mode.
Another bug with scrolling view - it doesn't throttle of filter reading completion updates, meaning slow scrolling will result in few hundreds POST request instead of one.
Release order is a bit is weird:
-
@_08 Hmm, that's odd, it should throttle the scrollview callback updates (which does the completion callback) to when the scroll is done in vertical mode, but on android perhaps it's different.
It doesn't seem to be causing too much trouble for the backend server yet at least. -
Using galaxy tab 4.
Whenever i go off the part i'm reading it saves it progress at 100% and when i try to continue reading, it goes back to the start -
Android app uses oblique version of regular fonts instead of proper italics:
(Web reader on top, app on bottom).Sometimes that leads to collisions like this:
-
Okay, here's a crazy one that I don't even know how you're going to test without the specific device (maybe it happens on other devices?)
I have a Huawei Mate 9, Android version 7.0. Whenever I turn pages, I have to be careful not to swipe from the edge of the screen. If I turn the page with any portion of my finger hanging over the bezel of the screen, it crashes the app. This occurs even when I am on the home screen and not in reading mode. I can still turn pages if I do it from the internal portions of the screen. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app did not fix the issue. Let me know if a video would help show what I mean.
I also have a Galaxy Note 5 and a Google Pixel C (the latter is what I usually read on), and this problem occurs on neither.
It's not a super huge issue, because I usually read on my tablet or in-browser, but it'd be nice to be able to read in situations where a tablet or computer isn't handy.
Let me know if I can help with any more info or if you need me to guinea pig a fix for you!
Thanks! -
iOS 10.3.2, iPad Mini 2.
Not a bug as such but.. if using my iPad while charging, I tend to flip it upside down so the charger cable doesn't get in the way. The J-Novel app resolutely stays in standard orientation so, unlike the other apps I regularly use like Kindle and Chrome, I have the cable squished against my chest when reading in bed etc. -
Not an issue with the app, but when I am reading on my laptop I have to go back a page when I get to the end of the section to get it to load the last 2 to 7 pages of the section. Took a bit to notice this, just seemed like it was ending in a weird place some times. On a dell laptop Inspiron 15 loaded out. Running the latest version of windows and Edge browser.

When I'm reading on the ipad from the app. I notice that it won't let me flip the device upside down if needed. For instance, I need to charge, and yet the cord crimps if I plug it in. If I can flip it upside down, the cord wont kink or damage and I can continue using the device.
Currently it won't allow the gyro to function.

@thomask Maybe you have portrait orientation lock on. To check open control center by swiping up from the bottom and on the very left, there is a button to disable and enable, click it once if the icon is lit up.

I actually have it locked in the orientation I read most often. Even if I enable it it fails to readjust.
-
@phobes I've reported the same problem. I can have it locked "upside down" for reading in bed while charging and most apps are fine wth it, but on opening J-NC the screen automatically flips back the "right" way up.
-
In the latest Android app update, the percentage counter at the bottom of the reading view does not work. It stays at 0% regardless of how far you are into the novel.

What's New
Bug-fix for vertical scrolling mode: was calling updateCompletion without throttlingWell, it did stop spamming those. I should add that nothing progress-related works in scrolling mode now and switching to horizontal gives you NaN% (it goes away if you flip, but still). It also won't seek to current completion when opening part, even it horizontal mode.
-
Until enough people have updated the app there's throttling on the server side so it is not always catching the progress updates. If you want to be sure to mark your progress in the meantime, go forward and back a page a few times.

Not that I’m expecting it to work on day one, but the ratios on the iPhone X or not scaling. I figure you already know this, but I figured I’d mention it
