The strongest doesn’t need any cheats!
Haruka, who spends his high school life a loner, was suddenly summoned to another world one day along with all his classmates.
When ol’ God enters the picture, Haruka believes he can just choose whatever cheat skill he wants to help him survive in the new world...
But, contrary to his expectations, that list of cheat skills works on a first come, first serve basis. And so, his classmates pick out all the cheat skills. His choices now limited to leftovers, Haruka finds himself incapable of assembling a party due to his own “loner” skill.
Even though it’s a different world, it seems his adventuring days will be, as per usual, a solitary affair…After becoming aware of a crisis looming over his classmates, Haruka makes a silent vow to save them. No relying on cheats!
He will walk a heretical path of strength that transcends the need for them. The curtain rises on the strongest loner’s otherworld strategy guide!
This is a new series where Volume One came out Jan 25, 2018 and Volume Two June 25, 2018, so we can be caught up to the Japanese release very quickly. This made it to Top 10 Light Novels in Japan for the Week of January 22-28, 2018, so there is some potential and if it makes it again this week or next week then this was not just a fluke (I will update this when the Top Ten List is up).
This is the type of series I just know I would LOVE! to give you an idea, some of my favourite LN are Smartphone, Death March, Didn't I say to make My Abilities Average, and if we include non-licensed stuff then that list just expands even more to the more fluffy, slice-of-life, low-stakes stuff.
I think we really need more of the more fluffy, low-stakes kind of stuff in English LN. We have so many more "serious" stuff and I believe the slow, fluffy reads are something we need more of in English. High stakes after high stakes over and over again just get boring, especially when we take the meta into account as depending on the stakes we know the MC will win and it is just boring. Though in say Smartphone and Deathmatch we do know that the MC will win because they are OP but the series itself is a slow and fluffy read that we do not care about that (it also depends on how the MC wins too and I think in these two examples they win in a pretty good way).

I remember hearing not so great things when this released. I think it might have been editing issues? It did look fun though.
It has two volumes out now, yeah.

@terrence I heard someone complained about then names. as the series in the MC POV and he does not remember names we get stuff like Guy A, Guy B, Girl A, Girl B, etc.
-
Ah. Well, I can relate to that lol.
I guess it's a bit curious if the protag didn't just give them nicknames instead of "1,2,3" designations. That feels like it'd lead to more confusion.

Ah yes, I can too relate to the not remembering names as well Mustachio Pink Blob.

Oh god, please use the Romaji name as the title, or at least the bad Engrish title from the Japanese. No need to create fan-English titles since it'll just get changed when licensed and confuse people.
Otherwise, here's my vote. Overlap puts out a lot of interesting series that catch my interest. Only a couple more days until the next batch of Overlap announcements on their blog site. :3
PS, I'll add it to LNDB tomorrow I guess.
Anyone know how to translate the author's name? 五示正司
I'm getting so many different answers via google translator, the cover, etc. -
@aruseus493 I will check LNDB and update this post sometime this evening or tomorrow.
-
-
Well, I will change my format for the recommendation threads. I will have the Title include the Romanized Jap Title and an English title.

I'm getting so many different answers via google translator, the cover, etc.The official romanisation via the publisher is “Shoji Goji” (per front cover and copyrights line). The furigana given in the afterword is ごじしょうじ (Goji Shouji). The name he uses on Syosetu is “五示正司(SH0J1)” with the pronunciation given as “ショウ2”, or Shouji.
Unless you want to honour the publisher’s spelling, I’d go with “Shouji Goji”. -
Spotlight time! A friendly bump to an older post that hasn't had any recent conversation and is lower on votes in order to draw attention to it.

This one does have two volumes now. Last release was June 25th.

That description is very confusing. Strongest... booty? And is the protagonist male (like in the description) or female (like on the cover)?
-
@guspaz you’re right, Sam should license it just to Alleviate the confusion
-
@guspaz That description is really confusing. I tried to find out what it is about, and I got
Haruka, who spends his highschool life in solitude, suddenly gets summoned into another world together with his classmate.
Noticing that he was in front of god, he hoped to obtain his favourite skill from the list of lined-up cheat skills. “Skill Selection leads to a quick win!”
But: The cheat skills have been used up by his classmate?
Haruka gets the remaining, tricky skill called "Solitude", due to which he cannot create a party, not even in another world.
Something about Haruka being aware of the crisis of his classmate, and deciding to save her, commiting the heresy of not relying on a cheat.
The curtain rises on the stategy of "strongest loneliness"" in another world!
The Japanese original description can be found on Amazon, maybe someone else can properly translate it.
So the protagonist is male, and the girl on the cover is most likely the classmate.Forget that, 遥 is a female name. -
@jaquobus Well, I translated the Amazon description to the best of my ability.
@Drone205 Feel free to use it. I'd say it's much more understandable than what's currently in the OP.......................................................................

Hmm, this seems to check a lot of boxes for me. Though it lacks any manga adaptation and only 2 out of 900 WN chapters is translated?
