Well, there ain't that much variety within the companies that JNC deals with aside from Kodansha (even though, JNC can't license but Kodansha LIGHTNOVEL titles) and they only licensed 3 titles so far and they are isekai (it feels like wasted potential when they have access to a big publisher and they don't pick up titles of different genres)

Did they license GA Bunko? They have some variety too iirc.

I do wonder if there are other small pubs they can approach. I know Sam was a bit against going the Web Novel localization route because it can be seen as a bit sneaky (at least, if you're a new pub).

Nothing from GA, Shogakukan, Seikaisha(Kodansha company), Takarajimasha(Kono Light Novel ga sugoi bunko), Shufunotomosha (Hero Bunko),TO Books, KyoAni(doesn't have digital market so JNC can't deal with them), Alphapolis, Shinchosha, Shueisha and Ichijinsha (Kodansha comapany).

Overlap and Hobby Japan have a few non-isekai and fantasy works but they are either not that good or not that many people know/are interested in.

The point still stands that, while there may currently be limitations today, there's no harm in suggesting any and all titles to build interest in the community and in case things change in the future. Seven Seas did eventually get to-LOVE-ru from Shueisha, so we never know what tomorrow may bring!

Whoever said nothing's impossible never tried slamming a revolving door.

Actually, I don't understand Viz at all.
They don't show interest in non-SciFi novel even the very popular ones like Oregiaru and left it for Yen (yet they went along with Vertical's NisiOisiN Boom and put Juni Taisen out) and let Seven Seas have many Ecchi titles.

If Kadokawa owns that much LN companies, aren't they practically monopolies? I knew that Kadokawa was really big, but not this much.

Hiota no Kanojo ga Ore no Motteru Eroge ni Kyoumi Shinshin Nanda ga......

Publisher: Fujimi Fantasia Bunko (Fujimi Shobo)

A romance comedy about an eroge-otaku getting his first girlfriend after she confessed that she wants to become his ideal heroine. (Sound familiar, it's pretty much the same initial premise as Chuuko demo Koi ga Shitai!) Accepting the confession, this is a series about him dating his semi-kuudere girlfriend as they play eroge together and be cute as fuck. I've read the first volume for both this and Chuuko Koi. They way they differentiate is that Chuuko Koi is more drama based while Hiota no Kanojo is fluff based. The heroine here is ridiculously Ero-Cute in how aggressive she is with her affections while doing silly stuff like cosplay or exposing herself to the protagonist.

@bloodygaikotsu Because Kadokawa doesn't license out enough of their stuff considering how large of a hold they have on the LN market.

Not sure if this was ever mentioned/requested. Apparently it has a few Light Novel's published so far so I hope that J-Novel can snag the licenses for them if they're able to.

I was looking at this one today. For people looking for stuff with villainess type romance stuff, it could be a decent one.

"The Inner Palace Tale of a Villainess Noble Girl"

                                      alt text

It's about a noble family that has the unfortunate trait of being born with evil eyes, so the people around treat them as if they are comic villains even though the family is very kind and loving. Looks like it's a romance comedy starring the daughter who I think is named Diana.

It has 6 volumes out in Japan, from 2014 to the latest release just this year. Publisher is Arian Rose / Frontier Works.

I have said similar thing already on this topic (I probably will say them again in a few months) but I believe there are certain books or series, or types of series that would really work with how we experience JNC. There are the Episodic series like Kinos's Journey that would really work well with the Prepub format JNC runs. I have argued both getting long and short series with how fast JNC translate being very good for catching up on a long series; getting short or new series can be good because JNC can probably get 2 or 3 short or new series and when they are all fully caught up can be about equivalent amount of Translating work to one long-running series (say if two books A and B are published 2 months apart and JNC can translate each book in 2 months, JNC can translate Book A then Book B right after). Now there are the more Niche series or series that Other Companies such as Yen On would not translate and I think these series are ones JNC should also get.
