Risou no Himo Seikatsu aka The Ideal Sponger Life
This novel is really good.
I hope JNC will License this. -
@saurabh112 I seconded this...

I got these Kodansha series from Bookwalker since my coins were expiring. A lot of these are single volume works.
Serious system Kudzu, Kuzu who is seriously doing kudzu # Kusuzu
https://bookwalker.jp/de5eade7ce-fc95-4d6f-87a8-c0b85e5fa051/?acode=WpfPW3yk
Unlucky Fungus Girl (People around her get into accidents because of a curse?)
https://bookwalker.jp/deeb418407-e2d3-4f57-b8d8-9eaca7d3392f/?acode=WpfPW3yk
My Childhood Friend Was Abducted By An Alien
https://bookwalker.jp/debf448352-3b73-4c24-8a7b-cbe5acad9434/?acode=WpfPW3yk
Akiba Tarian a thousand dead, summer, the end (Zombies)
https://bookwalker.jp/deaa45df2d-3d34-4407-996b-0a21c007dfc7/?acode=WpfPW3yk
... I'm never going to find time to read these all with machine translation. I really ought to learn Japanese.
Of these, the fungus girl one and zombie one seem the most up my alley (and most complete I'm guessing?). The alien one looks cute, but probably incomplete? The Kudzu system one I got just because one of the leads looks not so typical. I would like more leads who look different, and I think she is a Gal, so that intrigues me.

Otome Game no Hametsu Flag shika nai Akuyaku Reijou ni Tensei shite shimatta...
Chapter 7 of the manga adaptation came out and I re-read all currently released chapters of the manga. This series is just too good. Protagonist is too cute and I want to give her a big hug. Reminds me a bit of WataFuta as Fie is also a tomboy that's too cute. Part of the charm of Destruction Flag Otome is how the protagonist is a dense female harem protagonist. It's surprisingly fun to see a reverse-harem that's a lot like the bad harem cliche series where everyone is competing and the protagonist is none-the-wiser. The way Katarina is so kind and naturally seducing of literally everyone is just hilarious. Her little genki attitude on top of it all really just makes me want to give her a big hug. So yea, I'd love if the LN would get licensed.

Some people suspected Cross Inf World was getting this, but nope, it was another one of those "villainess" novels. I like the look of the character though. =]
I gotta be honest though, I'm not a huge fan of Walking My Second Path In Life's structure. A lot of volume 1 felt like filler short stories to me. I understand they're introducing characters, and giving each of them their own focus chapters, but maybe they introduced too many at once. So I'm hoping a future female focused novel has a more flowing narrative structure than that.
-
Should totally check out the manga adaptation. Katarina is so damn cute with her little "villainess" face. Otherwise, has Cross Infinite World licensed any actual Light Novels? I thought they only went straight for Web Novels.

Maybe I just haven't been introduced to another series like what I'm about to describe, but what I really like about this series is that the reverse-harem/dense-protag isn't a contrivance made for the sake of fan service, the author set up the story so that it occurs naturally within the confines of the setting. It's not like other girls don't exist in the story, there's just a compelling, and, most importantly, believable reason for Katarina to get all the attention.
Compare to male harem stories like say Strawberry 100% or to-LOVE-ru, it feels like a lot of work has to be done to either keep the girls attracted to the male lead, or other male characters are deliberately just worse or bland. Maybe I'm biased because I enjoy Destruction Flags so much, but I just feel like she's really "earned" her harem, however unwittingly, so it makes it that much more enjoyable.
-
@aruseus493 damn, I always tend to avoid reverse harems, but hearing so much praise for this one made me check it out and damn I'm loving it!!!! It fixes so much about the genre that I dislike while keeping a compelling story-telling and really good comedy. It doesn't try to be overly serious, and having a proper reason for the MC to be dense (being too absorbed in avoiding the Destruction Flags that she doesn't realize she has actually solved it all already... while making a completely different mess) gets the story really right up my alley. I never thought I'd like any reverse-harem, but this, this is gold.

Mayo Chiki (for the lols and stuff)
I was Reincarnated as a Sword (for the Adventure and growth)
Slave Harem in the Labyrinth of the Other World (for the Ecchi)

This is just for a change of pace, but is anyone interested in any cooking light novels? Just suggesting something a bit different because of there is manga series Delicious in Dungeon, so I thought to go with similar Light Novel series on cooking. Again, I'm just suggesting this for anyone who wants something different than usual, or these types of novels.
1.Gourmet Adventure of Legendary Tamer (Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hourou Meshi)
2.The Other World Dining Hall (Isekai Shokudou)
3.Different World Tavern Nobu (Isekai Izakaya Nobu)
4.Cooking with Wild Game (Isekai Ryouridou)
5.The Coffee Shop in a Different World Station
6.Cook of the Mercenary Corp (Youheidan no Ryouriban) -

Here are some of my food requests:

This looks fun. From Hobby Japan Novels.
"My Cuisine Makes Me a Strategist for Her Majesty"
@terrence said in Any Food Related Light Novels?:
This food series from Hobby Japan seems to be going strong. It's got 13 volumes.
^I see this is on your list. This one is apparently called "Isekai Ryouridou" in Romajii. Man tries to save his father's cooking utensils from a fire, dies, and then he winds up in an Isekai where people eat boar meat that tastes bad, and he tries to do his best to convince the people there (specifically the lead woman) to prepare it to make it taste good.
-
@kite-xx I'd go with Isekai Shokudou, I loved the anime, it was so chill and laid-back.

+1, I liked Mayo Chiki, manga more so than anime and I assume the manga was more true to the novels, but less volumes (7 manga, 12 LN) implies a shorter story - anyone know what's going on there? Surely not three different endings for three media types... What am I saying, I'll still buy it if J-novel gets it.
-
I didn't read through all 55 pages at present So I agree if this has been brought up. High School DxD would be a good series to look into.
-
@noirmorter That would be nice, but IIRC there was something about the author or publishing company not wanting to have the series licensed in english? If someone could confirm for me on that let me know.
Also, if DXD gets licensed, depending on who publishes the series, it will be quite a while before we reach up to the latest volume.
Plus, even though the fan translations are quite slow, they're currently up to Volume 22 right now for the LNs.
-
Anyway, it'd be really nice to have "Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e" AKA "Classroom Of The Elite" licensed. Seeing how the anime came out AND keeps getting requested a lot, I definitely want an English release of that series.
Another series I want licensed is known as "Is It Tough Being A Friend?"
I've requested in a couple different times before as well. Based on the info I've seen on this series, it's a harem romcom told from the perspective of the hero protagonist's best friend, since the hero has girls surrounding him and such.

Yes, I'm all about this. I love when side characters come to the forefront. As long as it doesn't go Yaoi, ha ha.
Speaking of sexual attraction, has there ever been a bisexual harem?
