New "Version" Of A Book

Sometimes there are post-edits to books, is there a straightforward way of telling when a book has been revised postpublication (and a date perhaps)? I have mostly the initial day downloads of the books. (I wish I could also share my list of purchases on forum).

I would like a way to tell if there is a newer version of the premium book available as well.

The API doesn't expose any sort of information about update date or version for book volumes. I think I remember seeing a version number inside the books, though that's not exactly convenient.

Unfortunately, Sam hasn't updated the number version at the end of books when there has been corrections, so that's useless too.
