A new app Beta released for Android! Ver 2.0.1
-
We've put out a new beta version of the app, it fixes a lot of the issues that were pointed out and even adds an entire new mode called "simple mode" which might be nice for people with slow devices (it doesn't paginate at all, is only vertical scrolling, and doesn't do fancy typesetting either).
Leave feedback here and hopefully we can get this version done and officially released!

With the latest update, I've noticed that it is a bit harder to turn pages now. I have to drag the page over fairly far before it snaps to the next one.
-
Can’t wait for something for iOS users!
-
@legitpancake a TestFlight beta is up if you want an invite.
-
@sam-pinansky If you are handing out invites i will take one, please and thank you.
-
@karsin The app seems to be slower all round. My Pixel C was dropping frames while paginating and had issues scrolling back pages.
-
@sniper_samurai I guess hats a side effect of turning off hardware OpenGL acceleration.
But that is supposedly the only solution to the people who had image loading problems because the resizing overflowed their hardware OpenGL texture memory with React Natives image libraries...I will re-enable it and upload a new version in a bit.
-
I have to say I /love/ Simple Mode. Seems to work well. Will comment further as I play around with it. I never liked fancy typesetting anyway. :)

Oh oh @Sam-Pinansky I want in too if there’s still slot left.

Just checked out the TestFlight iOS version. Seems pretty good so far. The reading progress bar for each part is covered up tho.
Edit: Holy crap this is so good.
-
When I click to change the font it won’t let me leave that screen till I pick a different font option, anyway it would just make that font dock dissapead just by tapping out somewhere. Sometimes I might accidentally hit it and then I have to click a font go out.
Not a big issues in fact a really small one.

Extreme slowdown on my Pixel 2.
-
How do I become a tester? I clicked on the link in the play store but nothing really happened.
-
One suggestion for simple mode: Can you change its CSS so there's a line break between lines? With that, it'd be pretty much perfect, IMO. Don't need to paginate or anything.
-
@dtta I feel like that'd be something up to personal taste but I'll think about adding in like a doublespace or linespacing selection (like how kindle does it).
-
@village-idiot Are you using ver 2.0.1 or 2.0.2 (the one where I reenabled hardware opengl acceleration?)
-
@cosm1cfall There should be a way to opt in to the beta versions...
-
- Go to this website: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.jnovelapp
The Website should look something like this:
- Click on the Button to become a tester. Then the Website should change to something like this:
- There should become an update available in the Play Store. Install this update. Then you should have the testing version installed.
Note: The testing version replaces the public version.

That's what it looks like when I followed your link but as far as I know, I never received the update prompt in the play store.

Performance is a lot better now with OpenGL re-enabled.
Like that you can tap the left and right of the screen to go back and forward, the areas where this occurs are too big though. A dead zone should be in the centre third of the screen with the left third taking you back a page and the right third taking you forward.
Also finding that upon reopening the app the top os bar doesn't hide itself unless you back out to the menu causing the text to be clipped at the bottom of the screen.
