Synopsis : Ever since watching a magic show held by him and his wife Maeve, Makoto Shiranui has always admired Mamoru Hoshisato—a world-class magician, as well as friend of his parents—and came to Tokyo to become his apprentice. Kana, nicknamed Hatena, is the couple's daughter and his childhood friend. As the hustle and bustle activities in Tokyo catches Makoto off guard such as burglaries by a beautiful thief, he depends on Hatena's comforting side. When he came to Hoshisato's now-haunted mansion to reunite with his childhood friend, he is greeted by the family's butler and maid, Jeeves and Emma along with Hatena, only to discover that they are not as compatible anymore.
First of all The Author died so This series in Uncompleted but doesn´t mean it can´t be licenced - this series is fun to read its entertaining with Ecchi in it i read the Fisrt volume and quite enjoy it + this series would sell because of Yabuki Kentaro´s Artwork(his fanbase is HUGE!! :D) and i am not telling that the content is not good,no i am just saying that the Art would be STRONG point to buy this series
Publisher : Dash X Bunko
Status : Uncompleted (4 volumes) - Author Passed Away

It seems like a really interesting series, but I make a point to avoid unfinished series. That's too bad :(
-
@terabyte there are licenced series that are unfinished but yet they say its still ongoing but not ( Rokka no Yuusha,Black Bullet, etc.) nobody knows if those authors are alive
-
@theredjet Yep, which is why I avoid those too. I really dislike not being able to read a series completely, so I avoid series I know are unfinished or highly likely to be so.
-
As a huge Yabuki fan, I also support this license.
Also, years after author Tomohiro Matsu's death, the series is now being continued with Hatena Illusion R, which has 2 volumes so far, for a total LN vol. count of only 6 volumes. Yabuki continues as the artist, and authorship is credited to both Tomohiro Matsu and StoryWorks, presumably meaning that they're using his ideas in some way. Hopefully this assuages concerns about the series being incomplete @Terabyte.

I'd personally prefer Mayoi Neko Overrun! over this one. That one has been in my sights ever since Yabuki did the manga adaptation which lasted only like 2-3 volumes, it was just hillarious, and the anime adaptation captured very well its zanninnes.
PapaKiki would be my second choice, even though the ending was spoiled by the anime.
Hatena Illusion OTOH, any interest I had in it was obliterated by the anime, that might be an adaptation issue so I would give it the benefit of the doubt, but yeah, I'd definitely take any of the other 2 series before Hatena.
