JNC titles you think should allow a longer preview
-
After the ebook is released many JNC titles only allow reading part 1 of volume 1 without buying the book except on catch-up months.
Are there any titles where you think that should be expanded to say parts 1 and 2 to get a reader hooked? Please explain why that title needs more, being careful to hide any spoilers or better yet make your case without them.
Here's mine:
Me, a Genius? I Was Reborn into Another World and I Think They've Got the Wrong Idea!
I read part 1 of volume 1 and thought it was an interesting start, but I can't tell yet whether I'll find it amusing or not. It's still at the stage of setting up the world and the main character isn't able to intentionally do much of anything yet.
It's not enough for me to judge, and humor is very subjective so reviews saying "it's hilarious!" aren't that helpful -- I can't stand some popular comedy anime like Ah My Buddha and Yuuna of the Haunted Hot Springs, but I really enjoyed the Lazy Dungeon Master books.

In the case of Me, a Genius, what you see in the first part keeps escalating. What's in the sample is probably the closest to "sane" as you'll find in the rest of the series. I'm waiting for volume 4 to appear.... Which may be a problem for some people, because it's an unfinished series.
As for "need more text to know if I want to buy!", for the price, I'm more of a buy-and-see type. Frankly, a lot of stuff out there fizzles out half way through the (book, movie, series), even if the beginning is fine.
And some times the translations become irritating "later on". Like how Yen On's version of Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei replaced "Onii-sama" with "Tatsuya" throughout the series, which means there will be a problem when Miyuki is forced to have to start referring to him as "Tatsuya" because of the relationship change.

All titles. I think more free preview content (for volume 1) would benefit sales/memberships for all series, but that's just my guess.
