I've paused my Rokujouma binge after Vol 7 before I read the two x.5 volumes to catch up on pre-pubs, but then I discovered the Shonen Jump app has unlocked The Promised Neverland because of the anime, so I'm reading all of it cause source material first, am I right?

Thought I'd mention it here if anyone else wants to read it, no idea how long it'll be unlocked for.

@sinnoaria a subscription to Weekly Shonen Jump is $1.99/month.

That gives you access to all Shonen Jump chapters that have ever been released in English (some series like Yu-Yu Hakusho, One Punch Man & some others are excluded)

If gives you access to many many other series though like 900+ chapters of One Piece, 700+ chapters of Naurto, 100+ chapters of The Promised Neverland, etc.

Side note: @smashman42 are you sure that they made it available for anyone to read? I see that if I am logged in with my account which has a sub I can read it all like I should be able to be, but if I make a secondary new account without a sub it has I have to subscribe to read.

Sorry but J-Novel Club does not publicly comment on any potential licensing decision or acquisitions.

Recently finished Do You Love Your Mom and her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks vol. 1 which I found to be kind of mediocre, but I did like the ending better than the beginning so maybe someday I’ll try volume two to see if it keeps an upward trajectory.

Also finished a Dr Who audiobook “The Good Doctor” which was pretty great.

I’ve added Rokujouma 10 to my currently reading list. I’ve missed this series- very good!

Also on the third part of Der Werewolf prepubs, I think this series is pretty great and it may be the first time I’ve ever shipped a guy for a male mc, but Parker is just too funny with Veight.

@rahul-balaggan Need a sub - it was locked for me last week even as a subscriber.

@smashman42 probably just a glitch, I assume it will be unlocked forever as long as you stay subscribed

I was just pleasantly surprised that when I went to preorder Classroom of the Elite on my Nook, it let me download it already, weeks early! I will start on that shortly.

Just finished Killing Slime vol 2 as well. Fun and fluffy.

Not much to update this week:

#6: The Devil is a Part-Timer!, Vol. 1: I read this for the Light Novel Club I'm running on the blog I write for (in my signature); definitely was a lot of fun.

@the-green-death Nice! Thanks for the heads up, I've been looking forward to reading Classroom of the Elite. It's also a little cheaper than on Kindle. I guess I'll have to read it on my phone but I'll be glad to read it this weekend.

@stardf29 The Devil is a Part-Timer is one of the few non-JNC titles that I read. Enjoy.

Man, I’m 110 pages into Classroom if the Elite and I really like this a lot so far. One of the better starts to a series I’ve read. I went in knowing nothing about it all and love how layers of mysteries are unfolding here

I just finished Death March 7 which was another fun entry in the god-level tourist slice-of-life series. It's a harmless, relaxing series where the MC has adventures but the focus is much more on him enjoying the sights, trying new things, and spending quality time with his wards.

It's also nice to have an adult MC who isn't an angsty insecure teen or easily flustered by women. (Isekai Mahou is annoying me as it spends more time on standard teen harem comedy and the character's mental age seems to be regressing.)

I've been trying my damned-est to read through Re:Zero volume 1 but it just doesn't flow for me. Such a shame considering I blazed through 7 volumes of No Game No Life before it. In the mean time, I finished rereading Realist Hero vol. 7.

just read volume 1 of I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level

(in addition to all the stuff reading on JNC)

                                  pretty happy with it
nice family subtext and quirky friendships. MC being OP isn't the main point, just a means to move the story forward

sweet but not too much so

                                  I read banned books

@jon-mitchell I like that one too. Just finished the second volume a week or two back. If you like the first, you should like Vol 2 also. I’ll probably read 3 this month.

Killing Slimes is another relaxing one like Death March and the FUNA books, but a bit more warm-hearted.

Fair warning: volume 3 is a little more like a collection of short stores or mini-episodes than the first two, both of which flowed together better. I still enjoyed it though.

@stardf29 I'll just update this every 5 or 10 books now...

#7. An Archdemon's Dilemma: How to Love Your Elf Bride, Vol. 4 (prepub): This series continues to be super sweet, especially that end...

#8. Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! Vol. 1 (prepub): Between this and the above, my sugar intake is reaching critical levels. There's a lot I love about this one, from the nice reverse-isekai elements to the comfortable relationship between the leads... this is definitely one I'll be looking forward to a lot with later volumes.

#9. Invaders of the Rokujouma!? Vol. 13: Read this while the Super Bowl was playing in the background. Needless to say, this was waaaaaaaaayyyyyy more interesting than that sporting event...

#10. Kokoro Connect, Michi Random (Vol. 4) (prepub): This is the last volume covered by the anime so after this is new content! Looking forward to that.

Just finished Moneyball (good book about the Oakland A’s), Bakarina 1 (good but I want a little break before vol 2) and Outbreak Company 2 (I love this series! I’m trying to get caught up).

Currently on Toradora 3, which I’m continuing to love.

                                          Outbreak Company 3: also wonderful

An audiobook collection of Warhammer 40k stories which I’m listening to while painting miniatures. It’s fun.

I’m behind on Wild Game and Potion Loli. Outbreak Company is taking all my time.
