Ultimate Antihero

This 4 book series by the author of Chivalry of a Failed Knight would be a good addition here. It is a pretty awesome read that uses the Cthulhu mythos.

Cthulhu mythos sounds intriguing. Looks very haremy though, which isn't my favorite. I don't know. Cautiously intrigued.

That site with updates to novels claims this is complete (though Bookwalker does not have that tag for anything but the manga version below).

It's complete but the series had a rushed ending.

Not sure what about the ending seemed rushed. It tied up all plotlines and such in a very neat order. The only complaint I have is that it didn't start a new arc, after the first was over. Maybe it seems rushed b/c it is only 4 volumes long, which is very rare for a LN series.
@terrence It has a few harem elements but it is more in line with Failed Knight in that aspect.

The story was building up the main antagonists and world building when all of a sudden BAM! End Game.

Can't say I see it that way, maybe it was the translation I read, but amidst the build up of the "main antag" you are talking about there were hints all over the place of the betrayal that happens. Trying to explain this and not spoil anything is kinda hard, but from the start the whole "differing set of values" between party's involved should have been a big clue as to how everything would go down.

I started reading the manga on this way back when but I think for some reason the releases only got so far and stopped so I dropped it.
