Since it's getting an anime, I'd love to see this licensed. I love both the illustrator and the writer for this one.

Synopsis
Tilarna Exedilika, a novice knight that came from another world. Lacks common sense, an innocent beautiful girl.
Kei Matoba, a talented detective of San-Teresa police department. A clumsy man with cat allergy.
In the city that connects parallel worlds with hyperspace gates, the two were ordered to work together.
While being constantly at conflict, Matoba and Tilarna chase after a common enemy.
Gradually, a strange trust begins to develop between them.
A hyperspace gate opens above the west coast of America.
On the other side of it lies the world of fairies and monsters. People who live there call it Leto Semani, "Land of Man". Together with Gate, a huge island appears. Now it is named Caliena San-Teresa. It has become the front door to another world and home to over 20 million people. A place where magic culture and Earth culture overlap. The most beautiful and chaotic city glorified as "City of Dreams". -

The illustrator alone is a huge reason for me to be excited as I absolutely adore all of his work, his style and character designs strongly resonate with my tastes and sensibilities. Then to make things even better, I also really loved the main works of the writer (Full Metal Panic, Amagi Brilliant Park).
I love stories where somewhat unusual detective style characters get thrown into a team with some other really unusual or unexpected people. Then these characters have to deal with a really unusual crazy setting where quite literally anything can happen. It very much reminds me of series I loved with somewhat similar premises or settings(Black Lagoon, Blood Blockade Battlefront, Space Dandy, Cowboy Bebop, Bungo Stray Dogs, Darker than Black, Kemono Jihen, Lupin the Third, Full Metal Panic). I love stories with this type of a style and vibe(groups of interesting or unusual characters team up against bounties, monsters, super powered humans, aliens. Plus they do do all of that in a usually unusual setting; for example space, dangerous pirate hotspots or modern day style cities which are turned upside down because of monsters or superhumans). These type of series also tend to have quite great action in them and Cop Craft fits into that mold perfectly. Oh and these series also tend to have quite great character design work and it is the same with Cop Craft.
These are very personal reasons for me so I can't say for sure other people will look forward to the same things for the same reasons as I do. This style of a story is something I always love.

I don't even really like buddy-cop genre stuff or urban fantasy fiction, but I nonetheless thought the first volume of this was tremendous fun. People would be lucky to get to read this series in English.

Unfortunately, the publisher of this LN, Shogakukan, is notorious for outright forbidding digital releases of their titles in the West, which makes them completely incompatible with JNC's model. Which is a shame because this definitely interests me, mainly from the setting and good word of mouth. I upvoted this in case one day the situation with the publisher changes.

@stardf29 I really don't get the point of forbidding digital releases when people are just going to do bad things anyways. Might as well at least make something out of it. I do understand that the older JP crowd that are usually in charge tend to especially not like foreigners to say the least, but...
Honestly though, I basically get everything digitally these days unless I really like a series. It is a lot more convenient for me space-wise and I'm slightly less worried about them being destroyed due to some disaster.

I think it's ridiculous too but I don't run things at Shogakukan so what can I do...

It's already obvious that the market is growing, so why haven't they jumped in unlike when NisiOisiN started to get some attention?Haikasoru did publish a few LNs like Shueisha's All you need is kill (Super Dash Bunko) but they focus on Sci-fi, mystery and Horror so a lot of LNs ain't in their strike zone.

...why are you randomly bringing up Shueisha for a Shogakukan title?

So I am just saying that Viz did publish LNs (and the reason why I mentioned the publisher is just indication is from an actual LN line) yet they don't seem interested in making an imprint solely interested in LNs -
Kodansha pushes stuff on Vertical
Kodokawa (and Square Enix) push stuff on Yen Press
But even tho, we have VIZ, we don't see much from Shueisha & Shogakukan and it's mainly from Yen press. (7 seas has this monster one) -

Interesting info, I guess, though until Viz decides to get in on LNs (and like you, I have no idea why they haven't already), it doesn't really help much...

Like Shogakukan almost exclusively licenses to VIZ up till 2010 but that changed gradually. In 2010, Shogakukan starting a partnership with Fantagraphics Books to issue a line of manga to be edited by Matt Thorn and then later Yen Press started to get stuff from Shogakukan like Oregairu. (even tho, in 2009, YP editors said this may not be possible) (Even Seven Seas started to get Shogakukan stuff)
Well, Viz do get Shueisha's jbooks tho like Naruto, Tokyo Ghoul, NisiOisiN's Juuni Taisen but never seen them getting more than this.

@BloodyGaikotsu I'd be all for Viz doing more novels... But then I remember how they don't care to complete stuff with more than 3 volumes (more often than not).

Well, I certainly don't like VIZ attitude towards their titles, they dropped a lot of stuff and a lot of their titles went outta print tad too quickly (but part of me feel like they are hogging two big catalogs) (For a company that dropped a lot of stuff, it's weird that they have a whole imprint for license rescue.) -

You might still manage to get one or two people interested as long as it doesn't go against their group's beliefs. My point is more that everything you can do to draw interest matters even if it is the smallest thing.

I did know about the Shogakukan situation but I thought it was a good idea to request it anyway. Viz doesn't have a LN imprint because they play it waaaaay too safe with the titles they decide to publish(especially manga), it's quite frustrating to be honest.
Maybe J-Novel can set up a printing partnership with the new company Denpa, they publish a selection of more unique manga titles. They also recently published an artbook with Murata Range's art and he's also the illustrator for Cop Craft. Cop Craft seems like the type of thing Denpa would publish in print and J-Novel could do the digital distribution.

@kino Denpa seems to be doing their own digital sales though. The books which they have released all seem to have kindle editions available. I say this because any of the links clicked on their site go directly to Amazon. Given that they're already doing digital, and JNC is starting to pick up steam with print, not likely that anyone is going to want to split a license.
With regard to the book, I can't say whether I would be interested in it or not without seeing how it's written. While I enjoy a lot of mixed (IRL and fantasy) society books, I would avoid anything focusing on law enforcement activity. Background activity is ok, but not interested in reading CSI: D&D.
