While I enjoy a lot of mixed (IRL and fantasy) society books, I would avoid anything focusing on law enforcement activity. Background activity is ok, but not interested in reading CSI: D&D.
Less CSI, and more Lethal Weapon, Rush Hour, or Alien Nation (in particular the last two and the way that they blend the traditional buddy cop story with odd couple/cross-cultural narratives).

@kino It’s not an issue of “the title cannot be digital-only, there must be a print release as well”; now that JNC does print, they can work with publishers with that limitation.
The problem is that Shogakukan doesn’t want digital releases of their LNs at all. This would keep JNC from doing prepub releases, which would make it pointless for JNC to license it since prepubs are a major part of their business model.

@stardf29 Well I guess the best chances this has of being licensed at least at the moment is if Yen Press decide to go for it because of the anime. I guess it will also depend how high profile the anime is and by that I mean if they get a great studio and a great staff to work on the project.
Shogakukan might loosen up when it comes to their digital releases eventually. I remember it took them a while longer compared to other weekly manga magazines until they started releasing the Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in digital format.

@theredjet The Cop Craft Light novel is from the FMP author. The anime studio behind the anime for Cop Craft made many seasons of Teekyuu and the Berserk CG anime.
