Would you read the manga adaption of a Light Novel?

Generally, if I really liked a LN I would be inclined to read the manga if I heard it was good (vs retreading the LN). Same with watching an anime adaptation. Although I find the reverse not always to be true(I find that I am more likely to try and pickup where an anime left off vs. starting with volume 1 of the LN)

I find that illustrations add to my enjoyment (generally) so if I’m “in” to a series then manga + anime all good

Not usually, the pace is too slow compared to LNs and anime because so much less story is covered per volume.

It would probably have to be something with many volumes already released and where it's the only way to find out what happens after the end of the anime. For example, I might read Girls' Last Tour (Shōjo Shūmatsu Ryokō) one of these days since I liked the anime.

If the manga brings value, I don't mind reading them.

There are some that are well done. Cases such as Elf Bride where I find the manga somewhat more enjoyable than the LNs themselves; or Haganai where, while the LN series has a certain infamous ending, the manga is going its own way, which may not be a bad thing.

Still, I tend to read more for series that haven't been licensed yet (or won't ever) and spin-offs. Manga series tend to take a higher money investment by content compared to LNs, which for 20+ volumes series it becomes relevant. Fortunately, LN adaptations are rarely that long.

The LNs are notorious for having Suimei lecturing about magicka for pages and pages, which has been mostly omitted on the manga. On the other hand, the manga's pace has also been somewhat faster at getting to the point. Some LN volumes are particularly long so it may be of necessity.

I was unaware of that, I may have to give the manga a try. I loved the anime and wanted to continue the story, but when I looked into the light novel, all I saw was people fussing about the end of the story. I ended up breaking my own “don’t spoil it” rule and I hate the ending to Haganai.
