In the LN, she was wearing a pinned-together mockup of the new gown, and Damuel was brought in to get the reaction of a male noble --- at which point his jaw dropped and hearts appeared in his eyes.
Wasen't the fitting in Part 3 Volume 4? We are still in Volume 3 contents here.

Wasen't the fitting in Part 3 Volume 4? We are still in Volume 3 contents here.
There are two fittings. First, in the orphanage, there is a meeting with commoners which has two goals. One was for Rozemyne to explain her gown plan to Corrina and her assistants, and for them to use cheap cloth to mock up the gown on Brigitte, all of which occurred in the hidden room. While this was going on, Rozemyne exited the room to meet with Benno et al. Then once the mock up was done, they decided they needed the opinion of a noble male, so they invited Damuel to see Brigitte in the mockup gown, which was when he fell for her. The anime has just covered this event --- measuring Brigitte in the hidden room while Rozemyne met with Benno --- but omitted Damuel's part.
I just went to find this in the book, and realize I've made an error. There are three dress preparation events. The anime has just passed the first one, which was measurements only. The second one is the first non-prologue chapter (A New Dress) of part 4, which is after the spring ingredient collection, and is when Damuel sees Brigitte in the mockup gown, so the anime has not yet reached this point. So you are correct.
Later they have the gown complete except for fine adjustments, and there is a tea party where Brigitte gets the final adjustments done, to show off the new gown trend to a bunch of noble ladies. (Chapter Payment and Unveiling the Dress.)

In this episode, we cover that Brigitte was being measured inside R's hidden room for a new gown of R's design.
is it just me or was the run up to this entirely omitted? The need for the dress, Myne's ideas for the dress, the idea that the dress is a reward for Brig... all elided from the anime?

@arghc ya. It is a lost opportunity in the end of last week's episode where everyone was dumbly cheering up Angelica instead of speaking terms to help with the the merchant saint ( like it actually happens in the LN).
-
This post is deleted! -
@wanderer_1204 He also appears slightly older in the LN illustrations than in the anime. That surprised me.
-
In today's episode, we have the missing interaction between Roz and Brigitte about Gunther.
The missing drawing of the spring water (and gifting of said water)
The missing fight against the Talfrosch during the night.
The appearance (unnamed) of Lasfam.
The missing discussion about Roz finding Karstedt's preferences. However the episode was good.
Next week: more shenanigans, including the Dress Fittings (with likely Damuel's reaction) and from the trailer, what appears to be Myne's first visit to the replenishment hall.

I like how the end of volume Eckhart POV (although a bit awkward how they interrupt Ferdinand) and Ferdinand POV about the happenings in the spring in this episode.
It was weird to see Damuel and Brigitte participating in spring prayer when it is a exclusively temple event. The detail of Eckhart being surprised by Ferdinand readily eating the same food as Rozemyne and the comversation later was nicely done. (Although I remember Eckhart asking Ferdinand about his implicit trust in Rozemyne some other place and not this conversation)

I felt the toad fight was lacking. They need to have a consulting director who normally does shonen battle anime to call in for the occasional action sequences. (This one was worse than the Lord of Winter fight, but better than the trombe fight. But even the LoW fight was lacking pizzaz.)
The discussion with Eckhardt at the end speaks to a point I've made before: if the story was told with Ferdinand as the main character, Myne totally fills the Manic Pixie Dream Girl trope for Ferdinand. Although he constantly complains, he really enjoys the chaos she brings into his life.

My anime-only spouse was pointing out how the current season of the anime is lacking the emotional resonance that the earlier seasons had. I pointed out that they are ripping through plot at warp speed such that it's a story told in bullet points unlike before. The episode to page count ratio is so much lower than would be preferable.
-
There seems to be a mistranslation. In the replenishment chamber, Syl gives a stone to Wilfried and tells him "pour mana into here", but he should be pulling mana out of the stone.
-
I loved the illustration at the end this time.
The replenishment hall was nice. But somehow I felt it was lacking. Maybe I am too influenced by witch hat atelier anime which was airing and wanted to see something more fantastic. -
This (ep 16) is the first episode of volume 4. So we have 8ish episodes left to finish volumes 4 and 5. This is way too rushed.
-
Well this episode was interesting...
Bonifatius appears,
The sequence of events was changed (the Platin company was named before presenting Brigitte's new dress).
The introduction of Stenluke.
And the discussions of the Tuuli situation. -
The lower city part was weird and abrupt. I don't think plantin company spinning off from gilberta upset Tuuli so much in the LN.
They also didn't focus on the difference in Lehenge and Leherl (of course the subtitles looked like it was MTL'd).The mana leaking out of rozemyne and Wilfried while replenishing seems like they are on fire. Again, a weird choice. Stenluke creation was funny and nicely done.
The end illustration of sparkly Ferdinand was so beautiful. I wonder if it is his rejuvenation potion in the spoon.

Probably his one true love.

It's definitely consommé.

Bonifatius appears,
Anime Boni seemed much more ... craggy (?) and less broad than LN illos of Boni.
If Damuel is proposing next episode then they're going to ignore all the mana growth work he put in and the Illgner trip?

@rsog412 @Almond-Magnum Kazuki-sensei has confirmed in her activity report that it is indeed consomme.
