@eternal-wanderer
Its puzzling that they opted to start the show with Ferdinand as it seems he will barely if any have any screen time this season.It was puzzling but now I understand why. They needed a narrator to give information of the previous show at the beginning, and chose his voice to do so. Also having fun at the end to inject a little information on what's coming with chibi High Priest and chibi Myne.
That beginning was a good way to introduce this mystery character as somebody who is concerned of Myne and look after her, at the cost of giving up a little spoiling information.

I do like how they change the art style for characters that are using shampoo vs those that don’t.
-
So 5 episodes in and there’s still a couple more scenes before they finish adapting volume 1. I wonder if they’ll keep this pace or start speeding up.
-
@legitpancake
Not sure if they can really speed up that much. Without divulging enough details to classify as spoilers I can already think up the next 7 episodes and these cover important plot points.- Interview
- Making
- Delivery
- Junk Jewelry
- Winter Work
- Cake
- Birthday
-
@bunnyfufu Sounds about right. That leaves 2 episodes too, the total is 14.
-
Ok. Chibi High Priest was over the top in this week's episode.
-
"M-M-Main-Chan! Don't you have something to do?!" Lmao best line.
Also hearing DIO voicing Benno will be interesting.And we finally finished volume 1 content, with also the first several chapters of volume 2 adapted after 6 episodes.

I really wish the actual Japanese publisher would step in and correct the whole name issue especially since it could cause problems down the road. For example if the character has two names and someone wishes to purchase merchandise featuring them which name should they search for.
Too late.
Do you want Ferdinand merchandise or Ferdinando merchandise?

I am a bit lazy here I know, but do you have any links to Bookworm merchandise I could get sent to the US? Your pic is imploring me to find a website and open my wallet...
-
@moredinosaurs
I don't know about shipping but 「https://tobooks.shop-pro.jp/?mode=cate&cbid=2547419&csid=0&sort=n」 is the link to anime merch on the TO BOOKS site. -
Well the anime skipped the paper failures, Myne's letter of gratitude, the pink rose paper, and Myne's origami crane that she gifted to Benno, but we knew they would be skipping some stuff in order for it to be a complete Part 1 adaptation. I particularly felt the "Lutz's Myne" chapter was handled very well this latest episode.

I took a look at the ordering page and they can only handle domestic delivery.

Due to the paper delivery meeting at the very end of the episode, the next episode will pick right back up at the meeting. There they can do the letter, pretty paper, and origami .... and the her most important reveal - no spoilers, to kick off the next set of stories.

@hiroto You could be able to use a reshipper, quite a few reasonably priced ones over there.
-
Oh, in case anyone didn’t hear the announcement, Crunchyroll will be dubbing this show in English in the near future. So hopefully that gives it a better chance of being released on bluray in the west.
-
@legitpancake Dear anime dubbing God, please don't let them screw it up.
-
@paul-nebeling The trick is to expect that they will, that way they can't disappoint you too much.
-
@paul-nebeling Crunchyroll usually records at Bang Zoom, which is one of the best studios, imo. I think it’s in good hands. Of course names will probably be pronounced differently, like “Tuuri.”

Forgot to mention that around the time anime came out, TO Books made this free Bookworm Magazine as promotional material including anime information, sample chapter from manga and LN, bunch of promotional information and gave out for free at book stores. It became available in Kindle store too and you can download free outside of Japan too.
本好きの下剋上MAGAZINE (Japanese Edition)
You may not be able to read it, but hey, its free.
-
@hiroto Welp, I'm definitely grabbing that. Thanks.
