Then the, well, calling it "fan" art isn't exactly correct, is it?

The arts at the end are drawn by manga artists who has participated in the Bookworm Anthology manga series, currently up to three volumes. They all write up their own side story mangas in Bookworm world and they put them togather into a book.

      So they are professionals.

They're all mangaka/illustrators who've worked on TO BOOKS series but not all of them have participated in the Anthologies, in particular as far as I can see Iida Seriko (飯田せりこ), Yo Shimizu (よー清水), Chima (ちま), Hachikawa Kyuu (八川キュウ), Akisaki Rio (秋咲りお) didn't.
The LN illustration, You Shiina (椎名優) also didn't, and I'm not sure about (和音) who drew the 10th end card because I can't find anything about them except for their twitter https://twitter.com/dot37_k (I'm assuming it's the correct person because Suzuka follows them).

@hiroto I worded it that way because I had read that they are done by professional artists. If wasn't aware that they were all working on various Bookworm related projects. Interesting to know.

@jon-mitchell @jcochran @hopebestman Reading 30+ titles simultaneously does screwy things to your memory, but you're right, that's not Benno's nickname for Mine. I'm not sure if his nickname for Mine would be printable.

@paul-nebeling Given that the WN is age 15+, I think some ... spicy ... words would be printable. After all, they do get into some adult subjects such as young child knowing that in a few years, she's going to be a mistress for a noble. And that's just scratching the surface of some subject material.

Morning and Mourning sound alike for good and sufficient reasons.

@jcochran True enough, but I've got a hunch that Benno's choice of words would be 18+.

Is it just me, or has the second season for this been announced for spring 2020? If so, Yay!!!!

@jcochran Great! Didn't think they would stop just at the first core. This series is just too good to stop at one season. It sucks that work kept me from noticing until now, but better later than never I guess.

@lighthawk96 As long as you notice before they actually show it, then it's all good.

I might sound a bit selfish here but I do hope @Quof can stay ahead of the anime, I really like reading it week to week and viewing the discussions on what's happening, if the anime got ahead it just wouldn't be quite the same.

You always have a choice to differ watching the anime and stay away from this thread.

@eternal-wanderer that depends upon a couple of factors. First of course being if the anime gets enough seasons to actually cover the story. And even though it's getting a second cour, that is by no means certain. Then there's the issue of how much content the anime cuts from the story. Doing the first part in a single cour isn't bad. If they decide the second cour should cover the second part (4 volumes), then they're pushing it. Trying to cover each of parts 3, 4, and 5 with a single cour each would be unforgivable. I figure with the ten parts per volume going forward, there will be 5 volumes per year being translated. P2V4 should be available end of May, beginning of June, which is OK for the second cour, even if they decide to cover all of part 2. After that, I just hope they don't go above 4 volumes per cour (would prefer three) and don't exceed an average of five volumes per year.

Yes, part 5 is about third of the series. Volume 1 of Part5 LN is coming out in Japan next March. It is expected to take 3 years with around 12 volumes.

Love the reaction of Myne's audience when she casually offers the equivalent of $600,000 in order to be allowed to become an apprentice of the temple.

@paul-nebeling We have to hope the author doesn't do anything stupid, like fall off a ladder while moving in to a new home and leaving a series unfinished...

Why do you translate 1 large gold = $600,000? (I agree - my translation is $500,000 which is close enough, I am just interested in how you got there.)

@libri-liberorum I didn't. I've seen that figure used elsewhere from a small copper upwards. Their logic seemed reasonable, so I remembered it. Although it may be a bit high since considering it now implies that Gunther makes on the close order of $60,000 per year which seems rather high for their living situation (based upon statement where the two small gold and eight large silver Myne spent for her treatment being about 2.5 years of his pay. That makes his yearly income about one small gold). Given that data point, I now think the 600k is high. Think your 500k is closer since it implies a yearly income of 50k for Gunther.
