Anime has tighter constrains than novel does and you cannot put everything in novel into anime, so they need to weave together the essential events to tell the essence of the story, and I guess they felt jumping there one month works to cut out some less important events around that period. I thought it flowed pretty well. It's true that the anime has tighter time constraints. But your argument doesn't work since those events were still put into the anime.
The guildmaster bragging about Frieda's ornaments to rich acquaintances so they in turn pressure Benno for them. The time doesn't exist.
The trombe sprouting and Lutz & Myne getting and processing the bark from it. The time doesn't exist.
Myne adn Lutz making 20 ornaments for Benno. The time doesn't exist.
etc. etc. etc.All of the above is mentioned/included in the anime in a rather vague and nebulous fashion as regards to time simply because the actual time for those activities doesn't exist because someone decided to allow for a month to pass by instead of a week.
-
Apology that I missed your point. You are completely right about "there is no time". Actually, it is worse than you said. Here is the the time line.
-
Day 0 - The night Myne returned with the red thread from Freida, with Tuuli and mom's help, and Dad making extra needles, all the red flowers got done.
-
Day 1 - The day after, Myne purchase white thread, and all the flowers were done that evening, in addition some green leaves.
-
Day 2 - The next day, it was completed with wood part from Lutz. They took them to Benno to look at it, then to the Guild to deliver it, then guild master took them to Freida to deliver directly.
So, it is actually "two days later", not even "a week", and that will leave them with full month of all those events to occur.
Also, it is definitely not translation error. Japanese voice is clearly saying the same thing.

Darn, I was hoping it was a translation error. As for my using a week, I should have said "about a week" or "less than a week". I wasn't making the assumption that Myne and Lutz immediately delivered the ornament as soon as it was finished since the LN was a bit vague on that point, so I allowed for a few days of leeway in the timing.

I would expect it will be sold separately eventually, but wonder if it will make to crunchyroll someday?

Edible Myne and Ferdinand on the celebration cake at the completion party of the 1st season.
-
@hiroto Oh my. Is that "edible ink jet coloring" used for the majority of the cake? And Myne seems to be missing her trademark hair stick. But still, quite lovely work.

No she doesn't.
-
@hiroto Ah, so she does. My X-ray vision seems to be on the fritz.

Speaking of Ferdnand, does the anime's framing "device" actually happen in the LN? (Obviously requires a Spoiler tag to answer.)
-
-
Hi guys , i found this forum now. Before i post anything i want to ask about spoiler tag.If we are talking about LN should we use spoiler tag or can we assume everyone here read the LN in J-Novel?
-
@hopebestman well this is a topic for discussing the anime, so if you want to discuss difference between how the Anime adapted the LN no spoiler tag is needed, for the most part the only time you would need a spoiler tag is when you discuss something that has not already been officially translated by J-Novel Club
-
I'm afraid of this forum becoming 100% spoiler once anime surpasses LN.
-
@hiroto You 100% correct, however as long as the talk stays within the anime discussion thread here, then there will be no issue, if users start discussing the anime in the LN topics that would be an issue and I would address it when and if it occurs.
However when the anime overtakes the official LN translation if anyone comes into the anime discussion thread and is upset with spoilers that will be on them
-
@rahul-balaggan You know, out of an overabundance of caution I'm going to unsub from this thread right now, I think. There was that OVA with content from Part 3 or something announced.
-
@nosgoroth There was, but the short story in question is apparently set between Parts 1 & 2 despite being in a Part 3 volume.
-
Yeah, in that case the title of the topic should be something like:
[SPOILER] Ascendance of a Bookworm - Season 3 anime discussion [SPOILER]
-
OVA was not a spoiler. Two stories in these OVA are short stories included in LN.
EDIT
Oh, not quite. 1st one is included in Part 1 Vol 3. 2nd one is the side story in Part 3, although the timeline of the story itself is within that of Part 1 Vol 3.
