Would love to see this get picked up, so far at least it's both fluffy and hilarious.

Just so you know I moved your topic to the Licensing Suggestion Sub-forum.
Also I deleted the 2nd line of your post, really doesn’t work too well when you recommend a legitimate company license a series by promoting the reading of an illegal translation.
-
If you'd like to gather some votes for this, it might be worth looking at some of the other suggestion threads to see what they include in the first post (book cover, description, etc.)
Some of us are too lazy to Google it for ourselves ;)

@rahul-balaggan I appreciate the suggestion, but if it's against the rules I'd rather you remove the post rather than edit what I said. I'm also curious how people find things to recommend for licensing without fan translations... or do we just ignore the reality of the situation?

A lot of people here can read Japanese or follow people who do. It would be the same as being recommended any other English book; you hear what it's about from someone/somewhere, maybe look up some sales information, then decide to go for it.

@myskaros Ah, makes sense! Suppose I just assumed that if you could read Japanese you wouldn't read a translation. <.< Thanks for chiming in!

To add to what @myskaros said, a lot of suggestions come from titles that have other forms of media already licensed, like manga adaptations and Anime adaptations.
Beyond that while it is completely understandable that people read fan TLs come here and recommend a title be licensed they don’t outright say go read the fan TL.
