Oh man, I’m off for most of tomorrow and I plan to spend the day reading the fuck out of this new volume. It’s always a celebration when Spider comes out!

Side note: Just finished volume 6 of Empty Box and that’s probably tied with Spider as my favorite LN. I’m happy it has a planned ending but damn am I going to miss it

I am disappointed, especially when taking into consideration where previous volume left us off with the battle against the elf's. The constant jumping between point of views are annoying as well. But I still enjoyed it and looking forward to the next volume.

I liked this one a lot (as usual). The focus on one time frame and character and world building we’re all really well done and some funny moments here too.

Now I just want the next volume to find out what happens next in the latter time period. Bring it on please!

@the-green-death I found this volume disappointing, it lacked an epic fight scene like in the previous volumes, and the jokes started to become stale. Moreover the story was sanitised removing the "more objectable" but funny interactions between Kumoko and the bloodsucker baby.

Not having a Shun chapter, also was a downer since it had left the same cliff-hanger going for more than one volume.

Just finished reading this volume (ended up putting it off till now)

I liked it. It's a slow-going volume, that's more episodic, or slice-of-life, instead of the usual constant grind to get stronger. The new content and earlier introduction to Dustin is also neat. It does change up some things, like how now little vamp has met Dustin, but lets see where that goes…

Also, I don't really mind that they removed that "objectable" interaction between White and Sophia. Really, what White did to her in the web novel is just inexcusable. Even for comedy… If they kept "that" in, there wouldn't be any way to justify Sophia deciding to stay with Ariel and White.

I hate that I love this series... I’m a binger god damnit! Patience is a virtue, but it freaking sucks!

Yeah whenever I check when the next volume comes out. It gets delayed longer

@yoshken hold on, what do you mean? Spider has been releasing according to the Yen On standard pattern of 1 volume every 4 months the whole time, hasn't it? I don't remember it being delayed at all.

Just checked the schedule so far, and yes, Volume 6 got delayed a month, although everything before it was 4 months apart, and it looks like Volume 7 will still be released on November (as with last year) giving us only a 3 month gap this time to put things back "on schedule"… ya know, unless there's another delay.

                        Delays happen.

This title is so good that I will probably rewatch the anime multiple times even thou it could end in a horrible adaptation. Practically I am satisfied just by the show featuring Kumoko all the rest is an extra.
