Light Novels in libraries?

BPL Overdrive got Marielle Clarac up through Matchmaking. ^_^

My local library, in dear old Blighty, is so far off the beaten track they had never heard of Light Novels; when I had requested a copy of the Overlord light novel, they looked at me as if I was growing three heads! They stocked almost nothing but God awful crime and period romance novels, it's almost as if they don't realise there's literature written outside of Europe and North America.

Tbf, my libraries near me also never heard of light novels either (even if they had some generally in the collection, like SAO and Book Girl at one point). I'd love to see a library with dedicated LN space (not in general or the manga collection), that would be cool, but I don't expect it cause they're still so niche.

My local library system has been picking up LNs, but generally only 1 or 2 copies of a volume. I did a quick search and they seem to have or have on order every single volume of Ascendance of a Bookworm up to Vol 3 Part 2 plus the first volume of manga. They're also in process of ordering a few other JNC series such as By the Grace of the Gods and Seirei Gensouki's omnibuses.
