@LurkingMcLurk Damn I was able to avoid the tea set but the mugs....
Also on her schedule on the one hand I am happy to see it grow but on the other I want more content lol@hiroto wow that artwork is nice I’m guessing the artist was chosen for the action scenes?
-
@hiroto The art look good so far. I like that Super Deform image of Rozemyne doing the Gilco pose in High Bishop outfit.
I just wish she pick a better studio to do the anime. The studio that does Wandering Witch Elaina would be goodThis was the sample art for Part 3 Manga. It looks pretty good, but it then it didn't turn out so well in the manga imho. The art was inconsistant

So I have read Volume 3 Book 3 and story is progressing steadily but one thing bothers me. She is 8-8.5 years old (officially) so that means there are still at least year and half until she goes to academy (it was mentioned in previous books that kids go to academy at 10 yo) and we know that this arc has 5 books. Also usually last book is generally half book main story and other half are stories from perspective of others. That means that next one and half book needs to cover 1.5 years of main story. Why do I have feeling there will be some kind of time skip?
What do you think?

I think that you're making a couple of assumptions there.
- If Part 4 covers Rozemyne's time at the Academy (and doesn't start before Rozemyne goes to the Academy)
- And if she goes to the Academy at the normal time for her presumed age
- And if the remaining 1.5 years don't fit into the remaining 1.5 books
- Then, yes, there'd have to be a timeskip.
I don't think any of those are safe bets.
The Academy is in season only during the winter, so either Part 4 will have to cover Rozemyne's life during the other three seasons (which means there's no reason it can't start before 1.5 years pass), or Rozemyne will be in some non-standard situation where she's in the Academy year round (which means there's no reason she can't be sent to the Academy before 1.5 years pass).
It's also possible that things will be glossed over or omitted entirely once they become routine - we were told that the Temple gets calls from the Knights' Order ever year, for example, but we've not seen one after the first Trombe subjugation mission. Now that we're getting used to Rozemyne's life as an archnoble, it's possible that the remaining year after her second Autumn ingredient harvest could be fit into one volume on fast forward.
I think it's more likely that she'll have a very eventful Autumn and then get pushed off to the Academy a year early under unprecedented circumstances - but then, I've been predicting a disaster since before Hasse's spring gathering and I've been wrong every time.
-
Well yes, I made lots of assumptions since I have no idea what will happen. Thing is I always analyze things and search for patterns and behaviors (proffesional deformation :). My assumtion is mainly based on writting of previous books. Author does not do much skips except in winter since nothing much is going on there. If we assume something big will happen (like in last two arcs at end) it will most likely happen in last book. So we will see how next book goes. Since it is fantasy novel anything can happen :)
In first arc "enemy" was devauring. She "defeated" it by going to temple. There we met next Bezewanst and it was made clear he was enemy. At end of temple arc that was resolved. In Noble arc she does not really have any enemies left. Shikikoza mother just do not have enough power to be threat. Ahrenbach is also not problem since if they were going to war over "Toad" it would already happen. I presume she will collect mats, resolve her health problems and then it would be all is fine, year has past, time to go to academy. Not every arc needs to end up in battle.
I just have to say that I find each new books to be better and better. Lots of writters have fatigue and quality starts to drop but not here. Maybe they changed something in books from light novel (usually they change things a bit when making books) but I hope quality keeps up until end (in around 2.5 years when last book should be translated :).

Hello, I have a question about "ascendance of a bookworm". I plan to get the series on amazon. I noticed that up to part 3 vol.4 the series is available as a paperback, but from part 3 vol.4 only as a kindle. Will the series be continued as a paperback, or will it be limited to kindle from now on?
-
Hello,
Yes Bookworm will continue to be released in both digital and print editions.
J-Novel Club is a digital first company, so there will be a gap in between getting physical releases out after the digital is released.
-
@Rahul-Balaggan many thank you^^
-
@Andreas-Muth-0lwpbkw And to clarify, P3V3 doesn't release in paperback until November 2021. Preorders for P3V4 paperback haven't been revealed yet, but I would guess January 2022 and P3V5 March 2022. Give or take a month or so.

@Rahul-Balaggan said in Bookworm Part 3 Vol. 5 Discussion!:
Hello,
You can refer to the following topic for that information,
https://forums.j-novel.club/topic/2930/ascendance-of-a-bookworm-official-fanbooks
It is a licensing suggestion topic, however in the discussion they do go into detail about what the books entail exactly, also on the last page of that topic is the summary release of the acquisition.
Could this not stay unlocked? At least until an official discussion thread is posted? It would be nice to have a place for newcomers to ask questions about a JNC license and other non-spoilery discussion.
-
Hello,
I have decided to keep that topic locked, this has come up in the past when there is a gap between announcements and launch dates of part 1, and it has been handled just fine in the past.
As for the nature of “spoilery” talk about the fan book, if they make their own topic it would just be treated as a new and separate topic, if discussion starts in the volume discussion topic, with details, those comments will be removed.
Other then that someone has already create a “when” topic for the Fan Book, https://forums.j-novel.club/topic/4211/fanbook-1-detected/2
So we will have a place for overflow, not sure how much discussion can be had there, if the fan book has not been released yet.
Thank you

I didn't know but there is Spanish version of manga in progress, up to Part 1 Vol 5 now.

@hiroto
That's pretty fast given that when I mentioned in here back in August (https://forums.j-novel.club/post/96370) they hadn't quite released Part 1 Volume 1 yet. Even faster than the French edition which released Part 1 Volume 1 in February 2020 and released Part 1 Volume 6 last month. -

Today is (at least in my time zone) the one year anniversary of J-Novel Club releasing Part 1 Volume 1 (Part 1) and after just a year we are now at Part 2 Volume 3 (Part 9). Comparing to the web novel fan-translations, after one year they were at web novel chapter 40 which would be in the middle of Part 1 Volume 2.
And now (in my time zone) it's one day after the two year anniversary and they're at Part 3 Volume 5 (Part 5). Again comparing to the web novel fan-translations, after two years they were at web novel chapter 59 which would be about a third of the way into Part 1 Volume 3.

@lurkingmclurk I love this series more with every volume. I only hope they keep up the pace! Excited for what she will do next!

One of the saddest thing in this series is that we dont see the "italian restaurant" because
I mean we spent how much, 1-2 volumes for that damn restaurant but now we dont know what the f is happening in there. I had such a dream. Myne was sitting in the cashier chair and getting money with her tiny hands. Her family comes time to time with the dresses bought by Myne. And so on... I mean yeah we knew she would become N and couldnt go to smeelly side of the city but still :(

There still is a long running plot thread of breaking down the barriers between nobility and commoners. There was even talk of nobility being customers of the restaurant. Other stuff came up in the meantime, but there is plenty of time left for the restaurant to come back. For all we know, it is already a common eatery for nobility as the only place most nobles can get Lady Rozemyne's recipes (since the plans to publish a cookbook probably got put on hold; and no one else who knows the recipes is allowed to share them).
-
@hopebestman Myne's motivation for the Italian Restaurant was to eat Italian (and other) foods. She's done that, in her chambers as she taught the chefs. I'd say the restaurant has served the majority of its plot life, in her mind.
-
@someoldguy it would be nice to spent some time in there tho. :(
@homura1650 idk man, next volume will be different. So i really dont think that small italian R will be a thing to read. :(
-
Quick question;
In vol 5 or P2V2, when Ferdi wants to read Myne's mind. He gave her a potion which tasted really sweet to her. That was ment as Ferdi and Myne's mana capacity similar to each other.
That means they can marry or something. Was it ment that kind of implication or is there another i miss?
Edit: Also while at it, i have another question as well :D Next vol or second next one, Ferdi had a fight with a noble. Lets call him "Frog Face." When Ferdi showed his wand FF shocked and asked "Why do you have a wand?" Why shouldnt have wand? They are giving after graduate in academy but blue robes are actually nobles, right? So 1 or 2 of them having wand shouldnt be a big thing?
