Why Shouldn’t a Detestable Demon Lord Fall in Love
-
I kinda bought this one on a whim, and while I understand that it isn't published by JNC, I found it to be a pretty enjoyable and an easy to read light novel. If I had to say it is a cross between "An Archdemon's Dilemma: How to Love Your Elf Bride" and "If It's for My Daughter, I'd Even Defeat a Demon Lord". It's a sugary sweet light novel that is all about a demon lord wanting a family and well, he gets one in a very fantasy isekai kind of way.
It's not your traditional isekai in that the two worlds are indeed fantasy worlds all on their own so if I had to say this would be a "Fantasy Isekai". The series currently has 3 volumes out of which this is the first published by Sol Press. Which leads me to my one greatest concern. That concern would be if Sol Press will be translating the entire work or is this just a one off. The reason why I ask this is that they started translating the manga "Saving 80,000 Gold in an Another World for Retirement" and seemed to have stopped just after the first volume.
So, that all being said I would like to see if anyone has more insight into this than I do. Will they translate the entire work or leave the readers hanging? But if you’re looking for an enjoyable read that you can just breeze through then please give this work your consideration.
But yeah, if anyone could answer my question on if they will translate the entire work or not, I would greatly appreciate it. I reached out to them on this matter and got no response.

So this is how Sol Press has operated thus far:
- First Announce they licensed a Title
- Second Provide no further information
- Third after a long wait and sporadic updates they give you a grand total of less then a week and say the volume is coming out
- Next they stop talking about it
- Finally after an even longer wait then how long it took V1 to come out after they licensed it they announce that V2 is being worked on.
All that being said I highly doubt they will drop any of their licenses, but it is just gonna be more time required then other publishers before any news on the next volume comes out.
...they aren’t your average LN company after all...

@rahul-balaggan
Thanks for the info. Kinda had that feeling but I just wanted to see if anyone else did. Hopefully they will sort everything out and get their works and release schedules in order. Maybe. -
I hope so as well, I want more LNs to be licensed but by (and it will sound harsh) competent companies.
I really hope they straighten up and that leads to some great licenses that make the community happy...
But I ain’t holding my breathe.

only thing i can think of concerning this series is "DAMN IT!" Dx cause i wanna read it yet i considering SolPress's record, the chances of the following volume coming out before the middle of 2020(if we're lucky) seem extremely low, so unless this series has a relatively self-contained first volume, the despair over waiting will be similar to danmachi V13 waiting on V14(with it having been pushed back 2-3 times itself)

@motionless47
I agree completely. I just bought it kinda off the cuff but then it actually turned out to be a pretty good story. So yeah, I hope they can push out volume 2 in a reasonable amount of time. I'll just have to keep a look out and hope for the best the same as everyone else. -
JNC's Elf Bride is fun, and volumes for it actually get released ;)
I too hope Slow Press does something to fix their lack-of-release schedule, but now when I see they've licensed something I feel more despair than joy. (Why couldn't JNC have gotten 80,000 Gold!? :( )
-
@harmlessdave slow press, one peace books has something to say about that title of lord of slow.
-
"If it's for my daughter..." was fun but anything published by Sol press, which doesn't look like it's one of the best LN ever, is a hard pass. Maybe once they have finished publishing the series (if I'm still alive by that time).

I'm a bit a afraid any title with more than a few volumes licensed by Sol is as good as black holed. The one that stings most personally is Saving 80,000 Gold...

@sinnoaria there is always that possibility, but they could also just go out if business and hold on to their licenses to spite everyone. If I remember correctly, this has happened with a couple of publishers and studios who went out of business. I certainly hope that this doesn't happen but it could.
I would also like to make one thing very clear. I certainly hope that they DON'T GO OUT OF BUSINESS. I will hope that they iron out their problems and find a way to increase their release rates. More light novels and manga being released is a good thing. Their work isn't all that bad so I will be hoping for a good outcome with this. But I don't think that them going out of business is a good thing. I just wanted to be clear on that.

This one is pretty fluffy.
Reminds me of If It's For My Daughter in how there's a major home base (as of volume 1) where our characters live that's a 'workplace' (orphanage in this case, though I don't think she gets any money from it besides from her farm produce) and a supportive community.
It's a bit weaker in that that community is nameless here (whereas most of the characters had names and relationships in For My Daughter).

@sinnoaria well... They are still a young company so like I said, hopefully they will be able to iron out their problems and get things on track. JNC started out small and are a pretty big player now so maybe, and I'm just guessing, they are having a somewhat slower start than others. Maybe.

I feel like if Sol Press' situation ever got bad enough to sell, a Chinese company would scoop them up before any of our favorite pubs.
Not really rooting for licenses to expire either cause I'm thinking much of them won't get a second glance (maybe just this and the FUNA series). If you care at all about Ecchi stuff making a foothold here, gotta root for them to succeed with Busy Wizard one too.

Well... Taking a closer look at their website and you can easily see that they are heavily invested in the whole visual novel type of thing. Sorry, but I never go into any of that. It would seem that this is where their bread and butter is and that they are kinda trying to expand their reach into the Light Novel and Manga scene.
I'm sure that doing the visual novels is more labor intensive than a manga or light novel so this may be a reason for the slow releases. I'm just spitballing on this one but it seems like a pretty good guess.

Well, I acutally did get a reply from Sol Press and they have confirmed to me that they do in fact intend on translating the entire series. So, I guess we'll just have to see how long it takes to get out volume 2 of this great little story.😀

This was short and a little shallow, but also fun and sweet.
It's too bad we'll be lucky to get volume 2 by December 2020 :(

@harmlessdave perfectly described. It was an enjoyable easy read
