Quality of Reader Offerings

I have tried a few searches but didn’t get any hits, so if this was discussed, just close the thread and point me to the correct one.
I get it that the best quality will come from the premium epubs but is there a difference between the quality of what the other genders offer? Kindle vs. nook vs. kobo vs. iBooks vs...?

Mainly that Kobo has the best image quality, and their DRM is easiest to strip so that you can put it on whatever e-reader you want.
Bookwalker regularly offers discounts and coin-back events, and every once in a while have exclusive illustrations (and more recently, short stories in the case of Arifureta and Demon Load in the future). But they do have an uncrackable DRM, so you can only read on their apps and never on an e-reader.
The other stores just depend on personal preference, they all have the same content. -

So Kobo is better quality when images are involved and all the rest of the offerings are equal? I chose Kindle, originally, because the manga I get, I can also get a copy on Comixology. With the "archive" feature that Comixology has that Kindle lacks, I can keep track of what I've read and where everything's at, but I like Kindle's reader experience for actually reading the book. Personal preference. Since I was reading manga on Kindle, I"ve been getting novels from there, too, but if there is a significant difference in quality, I need to revisit my thinking.

I can tell you that Nook appears to cap their ebooks at 20MB, so that may naturally result in lower quality. Whether or not you can actually tell the difference is a whole other question.

@terrence I just tried it on my iPad, and iOS seems to offer TTS natively as well. It works with the Kindle app and even turns pages on its own, it's actually pretty nice.

@nosgoroth another thing of note for IOS, if you use TTS in the kindle app and close the iPhone/iPad the TTS stops at the end of the page and will not turn, the device must remain on.
However if you use the TTS from the iBooks app, the TTS will continue reading and turning pages even if the device is off, another point for premium editions that you can import into any reading app on any device.
