Are you feeling a bit swamped?
-
I just finished adding the latest titles to the Wikipedia page. Then I decided to count them. There are 43 titles currently in publication in Japan that JNC is translating. There are also 7 titles that are in translation that are finished being published in Japan. That's a whopping fifty titles that JNC is currently translating.
Mind you, that's not counting the titles that are currently between volumes, but still, that's a lot of books being translated. For the statistically minded, the median size of a title is 9 volumes.
Hats off to Sam and the entire staff of J-Novel Club for bringing us these high quality translations at an incredible pace! And even more titles are coming!

Not particularly feeling swamped, probably less so than I used to be. A few of the series I follow have now caught up and are now on a slower release, and nothing interesting has really been added to take their place.
-
A little bit, there's so many ongoing series on this site now that its impossible to follow them all, I'm going to have have a marathon read soon to catch up on a few series.
-
Not really, but I've also not given in to the temptation of "read everything".
I haven't tried any of the new titles, and probably won't for some time. Some of them potentially interest me, but not enough to read v1p1 on them.
Some, it's genre-related. I'm not in to "horror", so Swarm is out. "I played a game and now I'm in it" doesn't grab me, although I'm reading a few like that. Insert "Where's my Bakarina?! " tirade here. :)
Plus, there's this "work thing" I have to dedicate some time to, so I can afford my book habit. And there's Winter Prep (still have outdoor projects to do before more snow falls).

I'm not reading everything yet I do feel swamped.
I'm not the read everything person, yet I have to admit the new titles are really, really interesting and all take a bit to get into. -
I don't follow all the series and with many of the older ones either finished, caught up, or delayed, I'm actually running out of series to read.
-
I have 5 continuing titles I need to read before prepub access expires, and 3-4 new titles I want to look at.
It's a nice problem to have though, a couple of months ago I was out of things to read.
-
I sort of do feel swamped but then again I'm just following for now the ones I enjoyed so far and will check out the newly announced ones once I get some free time again

Unlike me... I'm definitely "feeling the burn".
-
I'm beyond swamped now and more like buried alive trying to claw my way back up to the surface to get some air. x_x
I can't even imagine having nothing to read; my backlog is endlessly stuck in the 40-50 range. -
You're all saying this as readers, consider how we feel as the ones behind the scenes...
-
Well I don’t envy your work load guys but on the bright side business is booming at least. I’ve been swamped due to working almost all the time, so when I find the time I’m going to enjoy the heck out of the titles JNC and others have acquired
-
@myskaros You know, I'm curious. Who's idea was it to license that many titles AT ONCE? I mean, why not release them gradually in the span of a couple of months?
Is it because... uh, you know, there's actually going to be even MORE new licenses coming in the near future? Surely they won't be THIS many, right?
I knew becoming a JNC member was a good deal, but honestly, this feels a bit much. Not that I'm unhappy about it. 😅
-
@shrike_al It was the idea of a lot of people on this forum, given the shear number of titles in the licensing suggestion queue. :)
-
Some series recently ended/caught up so I've got a bit more spare time to read new parts but, yeah, I wasn't expecting all these new titles. And I'm actually interested in almost all the new licenses (except 3-4).
Though, at least half of the new licenses are only 2-3 volumes long so we'll catch up to JP rather quickly, which means the TLs will be free to work on even more series.
Anyway not complaining that we have more things to read, more like I'm complaining I won't have enough time to read all weekly parts if they keep adding new licenses so fast... lol
