I recommend looking at other suggestion posts are try to imitate them. Provide Romaji title, JP publisher, how many volumes, does it have manga, author/illustrator, and especially the volume 1 cover. Manga: YesA few key differences this has from Bakarina. One is that the protagonist isn't just trying to avoid a bad end; she has a particular person she wants to romance. So there's definitely more of a romance aspect to this story.

Wait, why is reincarnating as a otome game villainous so popular? Is it just a case of follow the leader? Or is there something about the idea of being a villainess that is appealing to the target audience? Most of these stories are targeted at girls, right? Is there appeal for the target audience of girls to the idea of being a villainess? Like not being restricted by societies preconceived notions of what a "good girl" should behave like? It's a neat trend and I wonder what it says about what an appealing power fantasy is for different people.

@planguy To me it is appealing due the 'what if' perspective caused by the scenario. Look at it like this: when you play an otome game, the villain(ess) is usually so much more powerful than the heroine you play. But what if the villainess is good hearted? How would the story turn out if your rival is actually attracting the boys due being lawful good and princess like?
Most of those stories are about the players finding themselves in the position of the villain without being villainlike - so they turn out to be naturally good in the position of evil they do not want to be. That alone is another matter of challenge story towards the hero (in the position of villain) of the story.
Like when you know the outcome of the otome game the villain is to be banished or killed - it makes you interest in how the new villain aka heroine works to turn the table. Similar appeal has the upcoming release of Tearmoon Empire which I am interested in. The heroine knows already it will be a literal dead end. But then she strives which whatever power available to her to make it not happen. And that can be interesting and funny in many ways.
Imagine it like watching a prequel of super heroes movie and add the salt of 'what would happen if (Peter Parker knows how his uncle dies and prevents it - what kind of outcome will it have)'.

@paulnamida The trend is shifting to novels about teachers lately though. We'll probably see some of those licensed soon, too.
Back to the topic, I actually had a chance to see the manga recently and I didn't like the direction it was going in. Does anyone know if the manga follows the LN or if they changed the story for it?

Lately I've also become hooked on villainess reincarnation novels. I'm also into this title (sadly the scanlators seem to have abandoned it). J-Club already has My Next Life As A Villainess, so maybe they can make a thing out of publishing the genre. I would also like them to license The Villainess Is Being Doted on by the Crown Prince of the Neighboring Country, I’m Not a Villainess!! Just Because I Can Control Darkness Doesn’t Mean I’m a Bad Person!, and Milady Just Wants to Relax. The best part about the second one is that it's only one volume.

Villainess isekai stories are always a win in my book.

This series is hilarious and the characters personalties really stand out from the normal isekai/villianess stories which is a huge part of what makes this story so great. On top of that it's not just comedy it's a well thought out plot. J novel club please help English readers be able to experience this story.
