Monster Hunter World: Iceborne

@myskaros Assuming you played it already on Playstation - how is it? I am considering getting the expansion for PC and give the game a fresh start there.
-
Never ended up getting it, but I've heard very good things.
-
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?
Ah, well. I liked the base game on PS4, so I have little doubt that the expansion would be not worth it.
Maybe interesting for you - currently there seems to be a sale for the PS4 version via the PS store.

I finally managed to upgrade my PC to the point where it doesn't turn into a space heater the moment I run MHW, and I already pre-ordered Iceborne on PC. I don't have a PS4, so I don't know what it's like.
From all accounts, it's basically More Monster Hunter, so if you liked MHW you'll like Iceborne. At least according to the gameplay videos I've seen.

Haven't played it yet but I did enjoy the base game, I'll probably pick it up eventually though I'm in no rush since I didn't find Woirld as much fun as previous Monster Hunters.
-
Well this will be my first monster hunter game I've played so I'm looking forward to it

I first played MHW on ps4 and ended up loving it. Than upgraded my pc 4 months ago to a gtx2070 from a gtx960 which I’ve had for about 4-5 years and and decided to buy MHW for the pc and fell in love with the game again. Once again I got bored of the base game and impatient decided to buy IB for the ps4 which I couldn’t play it because of the difference in graphics. So wasted 40$ but didn’t care cuz I’ve wasted a lot more on a lot of dumber things and it’s the end of the world. Definitely going to buy IB for pc this week tho. I do miss some decorations I had on the ps4 that on don’t have on the pc. Lol beat the base game with low level gala suit armor and forgot what weapon I used but pretty sure it was a weak switch axe cuz I in sword mode I don’t have to worry about what color sharpness it had and I wanted to save monster materials for my end game sets. Unfortunately I probably won’t have much time to play it tho.

From my experience with previous instalments of the series I can say that MHW is definitely the best choice to start the franchise. If you get the bundle which includes Iceborne, there are boni awaiting for you to make your start/catching up phase even easier.
I can only agree with the fellow MH fans here, it is a great and very enjoyable game - a genre you need to get used to but ending up being rewarded very well. Especially when you get used to enjoy the game in multiplayer.
@Eternal-Wanderer I have read that the challenges in Iceborne are supposed to be better. Though, yeah - for most veteran players MHW is considered one of the rather easier instalments - if not the easiest.

@serah thanks for the info I’ll try it later on this week

If you liked the base game, Iceborne is totally worth it. The clutch claw mechanic is nice but particularly fun if you main Lance, the new monster's are great, the returning ones are better than ever. I still believe that MH4U is the best MH game ever, but MHWI comes as a close second, and definitely the best to start with.
As is usual for G/Ultimate games, the new rank adds enough stuff to even be worth a full game price so it's a steal.
