Argh... Typos are harder to deal with when you don't have an established feedback mechanism!
(Reading Seatmate Killer)
Edited to add: The number of typos in Seatmate Killer does not approach what @Terabyte mentioned above. In fact, the first half didn't have any that stood out to me, although I wasn't reading it in "corrections mode".
Towards the end, there are a MAYBE a dozen typos that stood out. I may go back and edit my copy to fix them, maybe not.
As for the content itself, it was one of those books that, with a few paragraphs being changed, could have ended up as a stand-alone volume. Not sure the almost-but-not-quite-there romance will not get repetitive after another volume.

November 8 update on current series, this one gives me a sad:
"World Teacher 2
Currently we’re under licensing process for this volume, and as soon as we can get our hands on it we’ll start the work on it. Sorry about the delay, but the issues behind it I can’t really talk about."When volume 1 came out they were saying December for volume 2 but that doesn't seem possible if they haven't started yet :(
Still, at least it isn't a Sol Press license.
-
That's sort of disappointing, I was thinking of getting into World Teacher once volume 2 came out, but seems like that won't be in the cards for a while.
-
That's really disappointing for me too. World Teacher is the only series they have that I'm interested in and I've already been waiting forever for the next volume...
Just feels like they are trying to do too much if they keep announcing new licences, but can't get a second volume out within a reasonable amount of time. -
@corp20 I can’t even read the world teacher epub without massive errors on world teacher. Only the pdf works and that’s a pain to read electronically with the spacing and borders.

It worked without any issues on my Kindle e-ink after conversion to mobi by Calibre. What reader are you using for the epub?

What app are you using on the phone, and assuming yours is an android, what version is it?
I have both MoonReader+ and ReadEra on my phone and both display my copy without issues, but I'm also on a relatively recently updated android version. Some apps may have trouble with older android versions, but if 4 or newer, both these should in principle work. Both MR+ and ReadEra have fairly similar functionality, except ReadEra's base version doesn't have ads unlike MR+. -
@korppi Apple iBooks and two other. Don’t have an android
-
@harmlessdave iBooks. I didn’t think about converting it. Thanks for the idea. I really miss Stanza. :(

Tentai been quiet lately. =[

I check out the discord every few weeks, and they haven't gone dark like Sol Press did. Apparently Mr. Tentai was on vacation but is back.
It was claimed a few months ago that we'd get World Teacher 2 and 3 this year but that's looking less and less plausible.
Sigh. It's looking like they scaled up too fast with too many licenses and not enough money to support translating them at a reasonable speed. I'm not going to buy any of their other volume 1s until that changes :(
-
@HarmlessDave Yeah I like seeing other players in the light novel field, but it’s sad that they often seen to bite off more than they can chew. It hurts, I imagine, that volume 1s sell more than later volumes making the flood of new series very appealing for a new publisher looking for cash flow.
-
@the-green-death Might sell better, but if you become known as a publisher who never releases the rest of the series, you'll rapidly see everyone abandoning your company. It looks like only 2 of their 8 series has gotten past volume 1 so far based on what's listed in their shop.

v1s also sell well when you keep releasing future volumes because they serve as constant ads that the series even exists.
-
I tend to buy "everything available" for a series unless it is VERY bad. But that's been V1 for what I've bought from Tentai. I even stopped looking to see if there was any updates. The series that they do have that have more than one volume do not seem to interest me...
Edit: Went to their page and looked around at what is available now. Seems like I had purchased the only thing that came available new without realizing it, but it's still listed as "coming soon" on their web page. Oh, well.

ProbablyVery likely what contributed to Sol Press' demise. And kudos to j-novel releasing the last volume of My Big Sister Lives in a Fantasy World, heh.How is Tentai Books' Spanish side getting by, anyone know?

Pretty sure they gave up on Spanish TL light novels (or at least massively scaled back). They didn't sell enough. =(
-
@jpwong Yeah I think it’s a sacrifice of long term growth for short term sales and an approach that’s likely to kill the company after a few years. I just understand why companies do it when they’re cash strapped and struggling to get publicity.

There was a big blog post update today explaining their situation. Basically a myriad of things that led to the delays (but they're not excuse making I don't think, fairly transparent here).
Sounds like they are going to finish their commitments as much as possible before licensing new titles.

Best news for me about that blog post was they're finally confirming new World Teacher volumes, been waiting.
