So… the calendar is suddenly breaking for me? I remember it was working, but then it suddenly broke for today and yesterday?
Looking at the DOM structure, it just looks like stuff is being generated into the wrong boxes? This is fixed by messing with the options in the side-bar to re-populate the lists, but it's still really weird on first opening the page.

@TUSF
This only happens to me if I open the calendar in a new tab/window. If it's from Home to Calendar this doesn't happen. -
The calendar listing for "I shall survive using potions (manga)" is weird. The calendar lists a release with the URL https://j-novel.club/read/i-shall-survive-using-potions-manga-volume-6-chapter-2 . This gives me a 404 page. The series page https://j-novel.club/series/i-shall-survive-using-potions-manga only lists volumes up to volume 5.
The old site https://old.j-novel.club/s/i-shall-survive-using-potions-manga/ volume 6 chapter 2 is listed.

- Crimson Text added as default font choice for reader, default font size is now 110%.
Glorious!
No really, it feels so much nicer to use now. I'm able to swap over to the new reader (two-page, 120%) and it feels practically identical to the old reader. Thanks for adding the old font back.
-
@LegitPancake I use it on pc and the one I'm using has the best functionality I found out of free ones and had the most natural speaking/voice ability I seen. There is a phone/tablet version but it is more for ebooks and other files. What app do you use from chrome app? I'm on android.

@yzh4rjdzob6 This was a backend problem, not a new site problem; it's been fixed now!
-
@heimdal7 I checked the code of that extension, and it injects some code into the page that crawls the document. Because the reader is in a cross-origin iframe, the code cannot access its content for security reasons (which cannot be bypassed). If I have time (so not for a while) I might add contribute to it and add some JNC-specific code to pass messages to the frame or maybe access the part data directly as it seems they've done with other websites. For now you can either use the old website or open the iframe in its own tab (click outside the reader frame, hold ctrl+alt and hover/click back in it)

Calendar isn't showing for me as well, when I looked at the code, it looked like the class names for the day header and the chapter list got swapped for the current day and last few days. Swapping them back fixed the display issue for me.

With the new reader, it can be annoyingly fiddly to use my mouse cursor to get the settings overlay to appear/disappear. Is there a keyboard shortcut that toggles it?
Also, I'd like to have an option to have the % progress permanently displayed like with the old reader, rather than needing to bring up the overlay to view it.

@Quixzlizx
Pressing the Enter key makes it appear and disappear. -

Kindle will drop support for MOBI soon. https://goodereader.com/blog/digital-publishing/kdp-change-means-no-more-mobi-files/amp
-
@hessbri kindle will drop support for mobi uploads. Amazon's backend can convert to and from all the formats necessary to still support older kindles. I does show that MOBI is a thing of the past though

I'm having trouble getting the web reader to display the last bit of text in a chapter. I have two columns of text displaying at a time normally, and if there's an odd number of columns worth of text I have to use my cursor to manually push the progress bar at the bottom to the rightmost position to see the last column of text. The "page" won't turn to the last column if I just press the right arrow key or click on the right side of the "page"; it just stays on the second-to-last page I'm using Firefox 86.0.1 on a Mac OS 10.15.7.
-
Is the problem with keyboard/mouse page turning not working for turning to the last page of a novel part a known issue? You can work around it by manually forcing the page to jump to the last one via the seek bar, though it would be nice if the other options also worked properly.
-
@hessbri Only for publisher uploads, nothing about sideloading.
-
@zwabbit I've just added it to the first post. We'll look into it!

When reading a novel on my samsung tablet using firefox can the grid toggle for the font size stay active for more than a nano second? It displays for a very short time and a real challegne to make it appear. When i tap the screen it moves the page forward. Is there a cheat to toggle the font popup?
-
@chocolatkey Ok ty that seems to work. Unfortunately last couple years my eyesight gone down hill that even with glasses reading on screen text at times is problematic. Any chance of making it a built in feature to the reader with a button/setting option to pop it out to its own tab instead of having use key commands?
