@emblyon said in Free Life Fantasy Online ~Beginning of the Inhuman Princess~:
there's actually 2 versions of the manga.
One is an overly ecchi version which changes the story quite a alot.
And the other is actually very faithful to the source material. There’s a manga by Ao Sonohara being serialised on Suiyobi no Sirius since December 2019. The first chapter of that is the same as in the tankoubon (and also in https://bookwalker.jp/ded26388eb-d4ac-4d0a-bf0f-924dda1137c5/).
Even if another manga had somehow been scrubbed from the internet in Japan, I’m assuming you didn’t read it in Japanese so sites like Mangaupdates and various aggregators would still have it and I certainly can’t find anything.

@imp2405 apparently there are a few differences between the LN and WN so there's a possibility that the "official" manga follows the LN more so than the web novel.
Or even more likely they just went "needs more fan-service", and "add some kind of maskot to info-dump". -
@shiroi-hane I thought the same, so I Scoured the internet, but came out blank.
Though I remember parts of it vividly, like thinking "ah, so that's what Rina looks like" and "Anastasia looking down and seeing she's flat" etc.
There was definitely no AI circle or disturbing looks of ecstasy when beating the S out of zombies. It was around September to November when I read it, and the "official version" was translated and put up mid to late January. So there's quite a time difference, but if it was a scrubbed pilot, there's a possibility that manga-updates/Baka-updates just overwrote it to the official version?
I don't know, at this point, I kinda wish I'd saved it or something. -
@emblyon @shiroi-hane or while very unlikely, the official version is released in Japan, someone doesn't like it and makes their own version (DJ).
And then somehow a group picks it up as a teaser thinking it's the oc ver.
Then either they or another scanalation group decides to pick up the series as a whole and goes to translate chapter 2 and realise it's completely different from chapter 1.
Thus re-releasing chapter 1 as the oc chapter.Far fetched, but I really did read a different version several months before THAT came out on xyz site.

@aruseus493 Ohhh, the cover looks so pretty~!!! I hope J-Novel Club will license this novel soon.

Since I read the chinese novel 1/2 Prince I‘m a sucker for stories with gaming elements in it. I‘ve also read the fantranslated web novel version of this novel and totally like it! It would be awesome if J-Novel Club would license this novel!!! Their translations is always the best!!!
-
I‘ve read the web novel and it‘s quite exiting. Would love to read the light novel too!

Recently I've bought all 6 volumes just for Sherry's art, and it's worth it. I still have a stack of Hopium lying around for JNC to pick it up (one of these days, soon, I'm sure!)
