(New) App Feedback

@chocolatkey Is one of the fixes making tapping to go between pages in manga on iPad working again? If not, then ignore this post, as I still can’t tap on my 9.7” iPad Pro to go between pages.
-
@lilitu93 yes, make sure your tapping regions are set correctly in the settings and let me know how it goes. This also wasn't an iPad specific problem, it had to do with how the setting was initialized in the code. If it still isn't fixed with 0.6.0 let me know

@Icerius said in (New) Beta App Feedback:
when a new part comes along I always need to check if I had already finished the previous part or not.
I have that same issue which is why I'm still using https://crimson-jnc-reader.appspot.com/home to ensure I don't accidentally skip a part.
-
@chocolatkey Going into the settings and looking at them and clicking done seems to have fixed it for me. I did toggle one and then toggle it back to the existing setting, but it works now, thanks! It’s strange I had to go back into settings to fix it, but as long as it’s working and that doesn’t happen in the final release (as I doubt users will think to look in settings if it doesn’t work), it’s great.
Thanks for fixing it. I assumed it was an iPad issue as I didn’t have the issue on my phone, but I also only tried reading manga to test it on there, and I am currently scrolling in novels on my phone, and tapping worked for that as well.
-
@lilitu93 It should only be an issue for users that had the app installed since a previous version, since this has to do with how it stored the initial value in the preferences. When the preferences are first created, it was accidentally storing nothing ("0") as the size of the touch margins. If anyone else experiences this issue, you can go into the settings and change the setting, or worst case, wipe the app data.
-
I have the app on an iPad 3rd gen and whenever I try to read a manga it links to the manga series page instead of the manga directly after the current update. It had the same problem the last time the site was updated.
-
I really disliked it the first time (e.g. can't change font size), but with the fixes I'm not very happy with the upgrade. Good job!
-
@Oddmoonlight Which version of the app are you using, and could you take a screenshot?
-
@bttc I think you may be referring to the new website, in which case here's the correct topic: https://forums.j-novel.club/topic/3427/new-website-feedback
-
@chocolatkey It seems to be fine now.
-
I can’t take screenshots because the lock screen button on my phone is broken, but V5Ch2 of Sweet Reincarnation has several pages of black instead of actual pages (4-9 are solid black with only text, and 24-27 are just black).
-
@MasterLillyclaw That's not a problem with the app but the chapter itself ^_^ We'll work on fixing that ASAP!
-
@MasterLillyclaw It's been reposted and should work now!
-
@myskaros Yup, all good! Thank you!
-
Note that while 0.6.0 is available for iOS, it was rejected for Android (copyright issues), so please wait for a future release for the improvements listed on the splash screen.
-
I really find it funny that JNC had copyrights issue in releasing their own app with their own legally acquired contents.
-
@BartzBB silly in exactly the same stupid way as Amazon continually taking down their fully licensed content. Ugh! Corporate behemoths are always a pain...
-
Another QoL request which I'm not sure how feasible would be to implement: is it possible to add future part release dates when checking the volumes from the series tab? There is no calendar within the app, nor can I see stated anywhere what the total amount of parts a prepub volume will have. On the site I can see at a glance how many parts a volume will have, and the calendar also shows when they'll be out and which part will be the last one, but from within the app neither info is available, to the best of my knowledge.
It's not very critical, so I can understand if it doesn't get implemented in favor of more important fixes. -
@mirkosp This won't be implemented until we revamp how our data is stored. It is technically feasible at the moment, but would be prone to bugs due to the nature of the events (calendar) data. Having more info about future releases in the app is definitely on the todo list
-
It would be nice if the time stays. I don't know which way you want it, but I believe this is a bug right now.
When launching the app and view new chapters you can see the time and other indicators.

https://i.imgur.com/4Dv51pZm.jpgand click back to see title or time its not showing the time and other indicators any more.
