Light novels and their manga adaptions

I‘m very curious about how many light novel volumes usually get adapted to a manga. One, two, three, or all volumes? I‘ve seen many adaptions by now, but it is always different how many volumes of a light novel get adapted. For example Earl and Fairy adapted two light novel volumes, Sugar Apple Fairytale one volume and @Liber-Monstrorum recently mentioned that Two Saints Wander Off into a Different World adapted two volumes, though this is probably because the light novel stopped at three volumes, the elf arc not completed.
Each arc of Ascendance of a Bookworm gets adapted in a different manga adaption with a different artist, Sword Art Online the same. Though it‘s not clear, if they will adapt the complete series in both cases.
So how it is usually measured, can anyone tell me a little bit more about it? -
I think that's pretty much a case by case thing. Some series adapt with the intention of the manga (or anime) being popular in it's own right, but in other cases they plan the manga to simply be a tease of the LN to get people interested enough to buy the LN volumes. If the manga doesn't boost sales, or isn't popular, they could very well decide to end it as well.

The usual rate is around two manga volumes per LN.

Some LN get a manga adaption, but how far the manga goes differ between series. Some manga adaption go as far as their anime, usually between the first 3-5 volumes. However, they usually cut out parts from the story. Some manga adaptions go as far as the LN does.

That's what happened recently with Ester de Valonia/エステルドバロニア (currently 2 light novel volumes, 4 webnovel volumes)
It had a 10-chapter manga adaptation, and despite the author's wishes it was cut short thereafter.
(Turned out pretty popular with the English readers, turning into some drama when they saw a note on the last page of chapter 10 which said volume 2 comes out on January 27th and were sure it meant it was going to continue, all the while others tried in vain to explain it only meant the last 5 chapters were being compiled into a volume...)Light novel and manga adaptations don't always coincide, one recent strange example was Territory Management For The First Time, By The Adventurers Of Level 99/レベル99冒険者によるはじめての領地経営
The webnovel started in 2014 and is still ongoing, according to amazon it had a light novel version in 2014-2017 with 6 volumes total, however it only got a manga adaptation a few months back, with, I think, only two chapters out yet as of this date.
