The App on Android has been really buggy for me ever since some recent changes

It used to be that when reading I could just scroll downwards which was nice, never came with problems, and was just generally much preferred,
but ever since it changed back to swiping sideways again to change pages, the amount of text per page has been inconsistent and changes when I tap to bring up the progress bar/borders or to make them disappear again. Sometimes when I do this because I need to check the time or a phone notification it'll lurch the text around a few paragraphs or sometimes a few pages and I have to scroll around to find my place again.
Also, annoyingly and inexplicably some entire sections of pages are now completely grayed out and unreadable. I'm assuming these are either pages with illustrations/diagrams or maybe sections with text in some special format that the app is hanging up on for some reason because for example when I read latest Hell Mode chapters just now it came right after a part that says
"Schedule before the Change: "
but then nothing about the mentioned schedule information. All just unchanging grey page, and then it picks up the text again after that at some following paragraph.

I've seen similar issues with inconsistent amounts of text on the page where I now have to scroll down as well as swipe across, though often removing the navigation from top/bottom of the page helps a bit.
I also noticed that on Hell Mode vol 2 I'm getting a lot of areas blocked out of my view in my epaper tablet, but they scroll OK on my phone. It seems to be where a bulleted list of text shows up and prevents me from being able to read it on that device. Not sure if others are seeing this as well.

You can just change it back to vertical reading by tapping the two-arrows button in the bottom right.
This is also already noted in the splash screen that loads when you launch the app:

- LN reader renders very roughly in paginated mode (use vertical for now)

@myskaros thanks for the tips. It looks like switching to vertical scrolling mode took care of the issues I was seeing in the paginated view :)
