No Adult Light Novels Anywhere

@kurosov On the flip side, Amazon's bad enough on removing works without notice or sufficient explanation, I don't blame publishers for shying away.
You don't just give up on what is far and away the largest market if you wanna make much money.
As to the other adult content, I'm sure it's how they have them cateegorized. Amazon specifically seems to treat LN's under YA fiction rules, rightly or wrongly.

this
also the majority of LNs in Japan are marketed to teenagers (standards vary by country- but the majority of LNs are deemed "appropriate for those under 18" in Japan ) that's part of the "light" in light novel- bear in mind some of the stuff that is deemed 'ok' for a 15 or 16 year old in Japan- might be deemed 'for adults only' in the USA.
so we have compounding factors:
- a majority of available series are not 'adult'
- Amazon thinks LN=manga=comic books= 'intended for children'
- busybodies will scour digital offerings, and complain- Amazon would rather that squeaky wheels get greased- and buckle to censorship demands than get bad publicity- we are in strange times - there were literal book burnings this past weekend
- publishers are risk averse- yes Spotify is keeping Joe Rogan on the air, despite the controversy- but is that because of some sort of (misguided?) artistic integrity, or the $100M contract they have with him?

@legitpancake I did miss your point was about the illustrations and not about the contents. My bad.

Well, considering that Yen Press just licensed the manga of the series I do not want to be the Crown Princess, which in the light novel is very much smut. Who knows what might happen in the future.
Admittedly, the manga is not as graphic, but does get the point across. -
Amazon does seem to have an unexplainable double standard. People say they don’t sell adult light novels because of the explicit content and/or illustrations. However, they sell manga with explicit content and mountains of novels that can contain the most obscene descriptions. Not all adult light novels contain extreme beep and beep.

How adult are you wanting? Because there's always Fakku books.
