Acquisitions Speculation - General

#3 probably involves a muscle bound protagonist giving that Lou Ferrigno played the Incredible Hulk.
#2 is probably a reference to a sorcerer due to the title change in the US of the first Harry Potter book.
-
Hint 1: Zelenograd is a Russian city known for electronics. SSSS makes me think of Gridman.
Hint 2: Piggybacking off of sniper_samurai, the Philosopher's Stone in Japanese is "kenja no ishi", so "sage" is also on the table if we believe it's a HP reference.
-
@saffire Hint 2 might relate to Wise Man's Grandchild (Kenja no Mago), in that case. JNC has already licensed titles from that publisher before, so it's a possibility.
-
@Apollon Discord (cibastian) has also proposed "Yuukyuu no Gusha Ashley no, Kenja no susume"'
For the third hint, Aruseus493 put forward this one: https://bookwalker.jp/dedd602cdd-868d-4657-9a7c-7dc690dd9b92/
-
@saffire That one was not me, but Aruseus493. I just provided a link.
Tbh, hint 3 can be anything depending on how one would spin it, from Hulk to King of Queens. -
This might be a possibility for the fourth hint: https://forums.j-novel.club/topic/1479/when-we-go-to-a-different-world-we-first-confirm-the-law-of-physics-oretachi-wa-isekai-ni-ittara-mazu-massakini-butsuri-hosoku-o-kakunin-suru?_=1593208571937

OK, so Galoob were the creators of the Game Genie. And while he's most famous as the Hulk, Lou Ferrigno also played Sinbad the Sailor a couple years before his return to bodybuilding, so him not needing a stunt double for that movie is totally believable to me.
-
Went through Discord and saw @stardf29 mentioning Instant Death ("The Other World Doesn't Stand a Chance Against The Power of Instant Death") for the third hint, and... yeah, it's definitely Instant Death.

I would call this one settled, thanks for finding that page.
-
@Crimson-Wise Is there not a JNC suggestion thread for this novel? I don't see one.
Here's the Bookwalker page though: https://bookwalker.jp/series/89773/
Also what does "Galoob’s lamp" have to do with it? -
@LegitPancake Thanks, didn't find one either, and LNDB is gone so...
As for the second hint, Galoob is a toy company that made Game Genie, to Cheat on games. And Lamp because of a Genie's Lamp.
-
ok I'm looking at the 4th title:
the first hint are sub-atomic particles, physics type stuff
the 2nd hint - could be a reference to John Templeton (actually to whoever his Japanese equivalent is) John Templeton was a billionaire investment banker/philanthropist- but I think more relevant is that his foundation has as one of it's missions resolving the schism between faith (the spiritual) and science --could this be one of those 'rational magic' type series? Something like Ghostbusters or Girl Genius? (I know both of those are western examples - but that's the type of trope I'm thinking of...) -
Glad to know Instant death is a likely candidate, it's a pretty fun novel with a cool worldbuilding but the fantranslation is terrible, so reading it in proper English will be a welcome change.
-
the 2nd title:
Ya know Dr. Stone has a LN series, the 2nd volume was just published"not a philospher" ...MC is a scientist
"you're breaking up" a plot point (at least in the anime) how folks emerge from being encased in stone...and MC created crystal 2-way radios... -

It was mentioned a couple of times but that was before separate suggestion threads were a thing.
Incidentally, Liz translated WN's title as "My Instakill Cheat Is Too Strong and These Fantasy World Guys Don’t Stand a Chance" in NeeChuu's afterword here 2.5 years ago. -

Edit: For the Japanese Templeton, I proposed it may be a reference to Charlotte's Web.

Gonna go out on a limb and make a called shot or
fourthree:1: 公爵令嬢は騎士団長(62)の幼妻 ("The Duke's Daughter Is the Knight Captain's (62) Young Wife") (shoutout to Mental Potato on the J-NC Discord, who I saw mention this)
2: 魔法世界の受付嬢になりたいです ("I Want to Be a Receptionist of The Magic World")
3: 即死チートが最強すぎて、異世界のやつらがまるで相手にならないんですが。 ("The Other World Doesn't Stand a Chance Against The Power of Instant Death"... or perhaps "My Instakill Cheat Is Too Strong and These Fantasy World Guys Don’t Stand a Chance"?)
4: 異世界に落とされた…浄化は基本! ("I Got Dropped Into Another World... and Purifying It Is Elementary!", maybe?)Confidence levels are something like 3 > 2 > 1
>>> 4.edit: I'm pre-emptively nuking my pick for 4, given that I have absolutely no confidence in it after coming back a few hours later. If anyone has any suggestions for that license, I'd love to hear them — my hunch is that the second clue is an A-Team reference, but I can't figure out exactly how. ("Face"?)
-
Hmm, if it’s like this, I don’t think there is anything for me this time, what a pity...
-
@Liber-Monstrorum
You do know that those 4 are only part of the new batch of series. Here the exact words from the Announcement page:
Here are some hints for our upcoming stream, but they aren't the only new titles we'll be announcing! Tune in to our Twitter and Facebook on July 3rd for the full unveiling of these mystery titles!
So keep your hopes up that the others will be to your liking.
My guess as to why they only have 4 series with hints are:
- They weren't able to make hints for the other titles.
- The others are too popular that any hints would be obvious.
- The others are fan favorites so they want it to be a surprise.
- Just for fun.
