Like is there an isekai where the MC is a marine creature?That one where the MC is a female Orca.

That orca ends up being grounded on grass at the start and flies through the air though...

AX Announcement #8: They don't make them like they used to
I have a feeling that this will be something about a lost magic or a lost art, where in the past things were more powerful or were better than the modern world. or MC using knowledge or power from the past like that one with the MC reincarnates hundreds of years in the future where magic has declined.
Though I want Magicraft Meister where MC uses knowledge from the previous holder of that title (from thousands of years prior) and makes new things.
Edit: I also think there should be a "C" between the "A" and the "Q." you have it spelled like that the first time but the All-Caps versions are not.
-
@zchronos The calculations weren't to send her to the isekai, though, just to calculate exactly when and where she needed to be so that it would happen.
-
@drone205 Could be a novel about saving people, or some series that was licensed by a failed publisher previously (like maybe an old Tokyopop LN) bit still is going strong with a decent fanbase here in the West.

It could also be 7th, were the MC is able to speak to his Ancestor and at the beginning most of them are trashing him for being weak and not worthly of the house name.

@raitoiro I tried reading that one when the ft first started it.
Personally, i kind of enjoyed the way the ancestor treat him, but if that was the reason you drop it u should give it an other try because it's gone by vol2, and the ft is now compled

@terrence
That's even way more of a long shot lol -

@terrence
That's even way more of a long shot lolMore of a never shot since it's Kadokawa (well, never say never I guess). But yeah, I hear marine, my mind goes there (and to George Costanza). xP
Edit: Just for funsies, here's a Bookwalker light novel search excluding the word "Kadokawa" from the search.
https://bookwalker.jp/search/?order=rank&qcat=3&np=0&qnot[]=Kadokawa&x=12&y=15
If anyone has the Japanese names of other publishers we know JNC almost certainly doesn't work with, I could try excluding them too.
Edit 2: Ascendance of a Bookworm a possibility? I don't remember if it was highly requested or no.
Edit 3: Bookwalker search with all those exclusions:
-
@terrence
Shogakukan | 小学館
AlphaPolis |アルファポリス
Micro Magazinesha | マイクロマガジン社That's all I guess?
We just don't know about the rest...
-
@legitpancake I'm wondering if either of those single volume titles will be non-fiction.
-
Here are some of my notes for the guesses. Posted them on reddit, just follow the parent comment.
-
@hak0 I'm reeeeally careful about getting hyped for Rakudai, but those are some pretty good points. My heaaaaart!
-
It was the most requested non-Kadokawa LN in J-NC's survey from October. I can't think of any other hint that would fit it as well as "Highly requested".
-
@hak0 Just to add to my guesses, I am fairly certain "Finally my String Theory background comes in handy" is hinting at a Hayakawa novel since they are the only publisher Sam has met with that publishes actual Sci-fi. I don't count all those mecha LNs as real sci-fi :3
-
I was thinking of this one for one with "lots of snu snu", but it is a Kadokawa Novel Zero title, so fat chance.
"Hard boiled school Days Orihara Mitsuki and Tanaka"
https://bookwalker.jp/dec40d35b3-88fd-4681-910c-ffec000fc3ac/?acode=WpfPW3yk
I'll take a look at Hayakawa later. I really like the SciFi focus there from the little I've seen.
Seems Inou Battle is being called a possibility for the "Wryyyy" hint since I guess the anime has some JoJo references? I'd love that (finished at 13 volumes).
-
Also just a quick note as far as I know Hayakawa doesn't have any LN specific labels so whatever we get from them will be more mainstream literature probably which means JN-C is branching out to more than just LNs.
-
A bit of speculation:
- A license "rescue" - Ragnarok, I vaguely remember that HJ or Overlap "rescued" this title by re-releasing it after another publisher stopped it years ago.
- Finally my String Theory background comes in handy - There was some title Sam talked about reading that was some weird Sci-fi intergallactic/interdimensional idol kind of thing. By no means a sure bet, but that's what comes to mind.
- They don't make them like they used to - Orphen
I'm not counting out MT or Rakudai fully yet. I know Ningen's comments imply they're not licensed, but I think Ningen is capable of misdirection. Of course, I think those titles are long shots anyways. If I were to trying to fit the story of them being picked up, I might add in the fact we've seen Sam has managed to make print editions of Smartphone; they're probably only limited convention-copies, but if Sam has managed to set up a reasonable way to do print editions, that could help with negotiating for titles, since I think lack of print was one of the sticking points.
It's also vaguely my theory that "AX Teaser Announcement" will be Sam saying he's figured out a way to do print, and that print editions for some JNC series will be coming up in the future (beyond what Seven Seas already does).
-
One other popular one could be that Destruction Flag one. It's not super super popular compared to other ones at the top of request lists, but it has been requested and talked about a decent amount.
I think there's some difficulty related to the publisher Ichijinsha though (Wiki says they're Kodansha owned though)?

The story itself is short like 60 pages; I own it. But I believe it is a part of a book with several stories so your guess might be correct nonetheless.
