@bloodygaikotsu Right. Really overdid it with speedsearching. Feel dumb as google now.

@_08 wait what?
well, at least it's not this

Who'd think an ancient japanese man was actually a buxom MILF in a bikini?

Some Non-JNC based spec:
Wagahara and 029 (Part-Timer author + artist respectively) latest series "Yuusha No Segare" is having a volume 3 released on the 10th of July. This one stars a son who at Highschool age
Volume 1:
https://bookwalker.jp/de156b56dd-810f-4216-aa91-5f3f4f36f26a/?acode=WpfPW3ykThe 2nd volume was released in December iirc, so I was a little worried about this one, but at least for now it is alive.
Kadokawa property, so I'm thinking Yen will be probably most likely to pick it up if anyone. We shall see if that has a chance of appearing this AX (that or that newer series by the Konosuba team, Combatants Will Be Dispatched, would be nice gets I think; if Part-Timer and Konosuba have solid readership, it could be good to add more series by those teams to the mix).

But... Aren't they still working on Devil is a Part Timer?

I don't see how that prevents Wagahara from writing other series.

Anyone feel like playing some Speculation Bingo? Just for fun, I'm doing a Bingo Board for AX Light Novels.
Search for Bingo Board Word Template to find one you can download, then just insert your images into each cell. Find a way to post a photo of it here. In the middle you can do a free space (or a guess of something that's all but confirmed; I put the Uchikoshi visual novel game project in there for kicks).
Here's just a Work In Progress as an example:
(Not a spoiler)

Hako in the Discord said only 3 of the announcements will be isekai, with the late one being the third (and LDM being a fourth).
-
I want to see Destruction Flag Otome licensed in the worst kind of way. Katarina is just hilarious.

Dumb question time:
Does Reverse Isekai (or heroes coming back to Earth from the other world) count as Isekai?
I think the answer is yes, that is Isekai, but I don't know. I mean, obviously a devil travelling to Earth is him Isekai'ing, but a hero returning from his Isekai experience (or being rejected from the Isekai) and just living on Earth... More murky.
-
@terrence Based on previous... heated discussions, there is one camp that says "reverse isekai is only when a hero returns from another world" while there is another camp that says "reverse isekai is only when something travels to 'our world' from another world."

Clearly reverse isekai is a when a man and a woman arrange themselves in a censored position while censored. This is commonly seen in hentai.
-
But if you say there's only 3 Isekai... Would a Reverse Isekai be one of the 3? Or would that be a technicality to have more than 3 Isekai? 🤔
My Big Sister Lives in a Fantasy World is not Isekai. My Big Sister Lives in a Fantasy World has characters traveling from other worlds to the human world, so it is also a reverse Isekai. Therefore, My Big Sister Lives In a Fantasy World is both an Isekai and not an Isekai. - an example of Schrodinger's Isekat.
Edit: Bingo card ready...ish.
I just included the stuff I like mostly, put the series that are least likely on the fringes, and the stuff that's more known on the inside. I didn't put any of the Hayakawa or TO books books on here, so for those I just kind of have a separate list.

This of course is my Bingo cards for all the publisher conferences at AX, so Kadokawa stuff in there, GA Bunko.
If I get a single box crossed out, I'll be happy, lol. xD

@doublemangekyo Don't see anything stopping him either and I like Wagahara's writing.
-
Too many people to quote, but I consider a reverse isekai to be an isekai. As far as Part-Timer is concerned, the MC's are travelling back and forth so much, would you still consider it an isekai, reverse or otherwise? (I've only read the official translations thru volume 10.)
-
@paul-nebeling
I'm in the camp that Reverse Isekai is when the protagonist returns from another world. Part-Timer is just an Isekai series. Isekai has never required that it be a fantasy series. Me, a Genius is about MC going from modern to sci-fi alternate history.Elements coming from other worlds isn't particularly new either. Heroines falling from the sky, monsters coming from other worlds, sentient parasite thoughts, battle buddies you summon. Trying to say Reverse Isekai is just when something comes from another world is completely confusing the nature of the Isekai trope.
-
Only 2 Isekai novels will be announced at AX by J-Novel Club. And yes, that is counting Reverse or Inverse whatever Isekai.

You don't call going from A to B then back to A a "reverse trip," so why would you call it a "reverse isekai" just because A and B are different worlds? :/
Having never heard the term "reverse isekai" used before in general, the definition you're trying to sell is not remotely what I would expect it to be, that's why I disagree with it.

TBH “reverse isekai” imo shouldn’t even be a thing. If the setting is in our solar system that’s that.
