Acquisitions Speculation - General

@legitpancake Thanks for your fast answer.
I wanted to know about this because i only found the first three volumes on J-novel.
And for the FAQ, i will read it.
It's a little hard because i'm french but i'm motivated to read a lot here. ^^ -
@shiroiryu Don’t forget that a subscription to J-Novel does not give you access to everything. Pre-publication parts (or “pre-pubs”) are taken down from the site about a month after the volume is released. So for For My Daughter, members can only read volumes 6 (which expires August 15th by the way) and 7.
2 titles enter catch-up each month, and theoretically you could wait to get a membership until Daughter goes into catch-up again, but it had one back in January, so idk how possible it’ll get one again any time soon. -
On curious cat
“i represent the greedy LN fun :p , are you now going to say see you in 2019 for more license ?? ( btw, really i'm grateful to all the licenses you got this years, good job really )”
Answers-
“Oh no, still plenty more for 2018.”I must say this piqued my interest, I’m actually a little stunned we are going to get even more releases.
-
I'm kind of happy. It means that things are selling well and doing well.
I'd hate for JNC to fail, it's introducing a lot of high-quality translations. ;)
-
@legitpancake Ok ok !
I think i understood :
Like for August, it's the Mixed Bathing and Nee chan !
And even "only" the membership is good enough to read it.
I just need to find a tablet who is good with epub3. **
Thanks one more time for your answers ! -
@shiroiryu I can recommend the Amazon Fire 7 - and then just install something like Moon+ Reader from somewhere like PureApk.
The reason I recommend this tablet is two fold: it's cheap and can also read anything that you only get on Amazon as well. Win win.
-
@shiroiryu Any device will work, really. You can use a variety of PC readers (even Microsoft Edge has built-in ePub support), and you can use Calibre to convert the ePubs to any other format you might need (JNC ePubs are DRM-free). Personally I read it on my Kindle, using Calibre to convert the ePub to MOBI.

Bakarina by yours truly btw.
Mister Shark says hi.
I shall sing all hail to thine name for this.
-
@shiroiryu I just use Moon+ on my phone. I do admit others may prefer a larger screen for reading.
-
Just wondering if you had an estimate on when the new titles will drop, obviously theirs been some kind of delay but hopefully it’s nothing to serious.
-
@catstorm This is actually kind of normal with kodansha. They move slowly with contracts/materials...
We got permission to announce it early. Maybe next time it's better to just wait until we have all the materials already fully ready.
-
Eh. I don't care either way myself, long as it's going through. :) Appreciate the hard work you do, Sam.

I'll cop to being a bit excited/impatient myself, but I'm fine with announcing things early. Yen and Seven Seas usually announce things even further ahead, so a month or two isn't too bad. In this case we even have a ton of new stuff from AX to hold us over.
We're just used to more instant gratification with your announcements, usually you guys announce and roll out some parts from the outset.
-
@lazyproblems Okay, the contract is literally in my mailbox now.
All that's left is to wait for them to send us the data for the cover.

Echo is up.
-
Bakarina & Head Beast, when?
I'll probs check out Echo, cause I check out most everything, but I'm hyped for those other two
-
@smashman42 Sam mentioned earlier this week on Discord that he finally got all the materials for Bakarina, so he was hoping it could go up this week, but wasn't sure about scheduling. I've been refreshing and watching for news all day, but at this point just I'm crossing my fingers for sometime this weekend D:
-
I’ll probably be checking it out after work and after my homework is done which is to email my professor. Which I neglected doing so since Monday. Damn I’m something else for sure.
-
Echo is not my thing. I'll be talking a look at Bakarina and Head Best though.
