I only made this account because I learned that Beatless had been translated into English, and there's the promise of DRM-free ebook downloads if I buy them with premium credits so they aren't linked to any service. But when I click buy on the main site's page for Beatless, it only shows links to external sites. Where is the option to buy Beatless as a DRM-free ebook?

I clicked buy on some other series to make sure I wasn't missing anything and the in-page pop-up was much taller to accommodate the option to buy it directly from J-Novel Club, so that means the option to purchase Beatless DRM-free is not available. Clicking on on the "Discuss on forums" image brings me to the series page https://forums.j-novel.club/topic/2577/beatless, which is inaccessible to people who aren't subscribers

I don't care about the discussion contents of the forum section. I just want to be able to search more threads to see if there's an explanation for it and if any other series have this problem, too. I thought the anime adaptation would just perpetually be stuck on Amazon Prime video with no home disc release until it decided to take the series down from streaming, and that an English translation of the book would never happen. I was ecstatic, but now I'm just disappointed. So what's the deal?

As discussed in https://forums.j-novel.club/topic/2577/beatless?_=1646865757987 and elsewhere this is not a regular JNC release. It is a collaboration rather than a regular license and it is a double length release so they would need to charge more for it (e.g. 2 credits). This would probably mean they'd need to update their system just for one book where they don't have any premium content.

So while JNC have not said never they have given an explanation for why there are no plans for this option at present.

        Stay shiny, y'all.

Hopefully my summary was clear enough without access to the threads. If I've missed anything important out feel free to add it though.

I've got the gist of the situation, no worries. If it's not available DRM-free through J-Novel Club then that's just how it is. Thanks for clearing things up.

@lyokoninja We're aware that this is not ideal and looking into a solution; check back later this year to see if anything has changed!
