But ain't Yen press exclusive distributor for Square Enix?IDK, I just suggest based on what I want, not necessarily whether it can happen.
But, like, isn't Seven Seas publishing a Final Fantasy novel? That maybe a bit different than Square's manga property like this, but it just comes to mind that at least Square game properties end up with other companies.
Edit: I just found one that Yen Press may not have gotten from the same label (Young Gangen). Arakawa Under the Bridge went to Crunchyroll and Vertical.

My Requests this month:
- Arifureta Nichijou de Sekai Saikyou (Manga) - Volume 1 is finally set to come out in Japan April 25th. And I want an English copy. Especially since it isn't getting fan-scanlated.
- Gate: Where the JSDF Fought (Manga) - It's not looking good that Sekai Project will release anything beyond volume 2 considering all the trouble they had just doing that.
- Mushoku Tensei (LN) - Of course I want this. I'd love to read the actual LN series as it's something I consider a masterpiece.
- Gamer! (LN) - Always gotta request either this or Seitokai no Ichizon. Sekina Aoii has a real talent for twisting tropes in his series.

Do you think they're tracking our IP addresses / Emails to get rid of duplicate requests? Or would that be too much work?
I can't remember if I suggested White Album 2 in the past, but I'm going to suggest it again this month I think. Westerners need some legal means to read that full series in English, even if it's just the novelization.
-
@terrence It's google docs so I doubt it tracks IP addresses. Especially considering you'll end up filtering out multiple stuff from the same apartment block or other similar set-ups where a lot of people would be on the same IP address.

I sure hope not. I want The Comic Artist and His Assistants in print and I want it bad.
Don't see Yen picking that one up... -
In terms of manga and light novels, I simply requested:
"Tsugumomo" It's perfect to be under the Ghost Ship label :3
"Komi-san wa Komyushou Desu." Another manga series that I want to see licensed. Seeing how Seven Seas can pick up
"Mushoku Tensei" Seeing how Aruseus keeps requesting it in the survey, I figured I might as well do so too XD
"Is It Tough Being A Friend?" One of the romcom LN series that I want to see get picked up so badly.
"Butsuriteki ni Koritsu shiteiru Ore no Koukou Seikatsu" Also a romcom LN series, I do like the artstyle of it.
-
"Tsugumomo" is pretty much perfect for Seven Seas since they do license a lot of ecchi/borderline H, and now that there's a Ghost Ship label, it perfectly fits into that category
-
Manga:
Mob Psycho 100
Murenase! Shiiton Gakuen (some random manga I found recently)Light Novel:
Assassins Pride
Only Sense Online -
Switched my picks around slightly this month.
- Manga
- Darwin's Game
- Iris Zero
- LN
- Tensei Shitara Ken deshita
- Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu
- Manga
-
For the light novels, I went with old requests. The manga, I went with one that I think hasn't been licensed despite having an anime, and then one that is more recent.
I Live With My Brother's Wife.
Attacking the Dungeon With My Beautiful Boss is Overtime Work? (LN)
Good Luck Girl!
White Album 2. (LN)

I would looooooove to get this in English, unfortunately I believe it's firmly in VIZ's territory seeing that it was a Jump title and everything else in that magazine being published in English was picked up by VIZ. Granted, Seven Seas getting TLR and Yuuna-san means it's not completely off the table, but I would imagine that, since VIZ is already putting out Twin Star Exorcists by the same author, it might simply be off-limits.
-
@myskaros hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
This does actually relate to a random comment I said in the past on twitter, is Viz media still interested in new manga.
The seem to be focusing less and less on manga and more on American comics, games, and anime over the last year or so.
And ever since that happened 7S has been picking up the slack, I can only imagine that internally they are shifting and that allowed 7S to make some deals because the parent companies know that Viz is shifting business strategies
Sorry but J-Novel Club does not publicly comment on any potential licensing decision or acquisitions.

@rahul-balaggan VIZ did pick up Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai, Maou-jou de Oyasumi, Kimetsu no Yaiba, and Kanata no Astra, all releasing this year, so I would say I do not agree with that speculation. I can't speak to whether the amount of pick-up titles is fewer than they were before, though, but they've never been in the ecchi side of manga, so 7S getting those isn't as surprising as it would be if they get Binbougami-ga, which is more of a mainstream action/comedy similar to Gintama or JoJo.

Now that the May Survey is out I'll go ahead and post what I chose for this months survey(sorry might be doing something wrong am New to this kind of thing!) .
Manga-
1.)Oroka na Tenshi wa Akuma to Odoru
2.)Futaba san no Kyoudai
Light Novels-
1.)Tensei Shitara Ken Deshita
2.)Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear
If your curious as to what these titles are just look them up on Baka updates there actually pretty Interesting Series! -
Whoa, May survey already out?!
I gotta go through my list. I got a bunch that interest me. I think one of those "I got Isekai'd and I have to lose weight" novels I want. Maybe that 'I'm the Daughter of a Family With Evil Faces, so People Think We're Nefarious' novel too.
Death Game manga / novels I think I want too. Hmmm...
-
I would love for 7S to give some kind of reaction or feedback or something to give us some kind of indication of what titles they want, or don't want, or anything really O_o I'm just not sure if it's better to keep submitting the same titles or to switch it up.
Anyway, I went with 75% consistency, 25% random spice:
- Manga: Darwin's Game, Iris Zero
- LN: Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu, Konjiki no Moji Tsukai
-
I got my two LN:
Leg Mimic (treasure chest reincarnation)
Execution Tarot (Escape Game)Manga (maybes for now):
When the notice of the end of the love harem game comes
https://bookwalker.jp/de0a3843b3-d221-4668-bf21-13743b6b1dda/?acode=WpfPW3ykAnd maybe "Appli Trap" or one of the other class game type manga.
-
I usually change titles every month
Well, we won't get any results outta the survey till they announce their new licenses (probably in a summer con like Anime Expo)I went with
Manga:
Getsuyoubi no Tomodachi
It's award-winning, 2-volume manga that ranked #4 on Kono Manga ga sugoi 2018
Learned about it here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fodRoRdDSugMy other manga entry was Love Lab
Man, I really love this series and Ruri Miyahara work in general~For novels, I went with:
-Gamers!
-Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri
