[Manga] The Dragon, The Hero, and the Courier
-
Alternate titles: Ryuu to Yuusha to Haitatsunin, 竜と勇者と配達人
Author: Gregorius Yamada
Publisher: Shueisha (Young Jump Comics Digital)
Volumes: 7 (ongoing)Synopsis: "Hello fellow citizens! I am Yoshida the half-elf, working for the Post Office of the Imperial City of Idazig. My job is to deliver letters and documents to wherever you need them to be, whether it be a castle in the sky or the bottom of an abyss."
This is a comedy written by the biggest Medieval Ages geek, hitting the fantasy genre from an entirely new angle!Comments: Since J Novel is doing more manga series, how about one that puts medieval fantasy in a different light? As the plot description implies, this series goes over many of the tropes common in a medieval society, but the author’s an actual medieval nut so they have fun trying to twist the story so those parts can make sense. For instance, while “levels” exist, one chapter has Yoshida work as a scribe who needs to follow adventurers around and record every monster they’ve killed to accurately tally their “experience points”.
Point is, it’s a fantasy comedy that doesn’t take itself seriously. I dunno the relationship that JNC has with Shueisha, but it’s always a series to keep in mind.
