Ye who wish to break DRM, read on
-
So, I looked into how the online reader works out of curiosity and stumbled across a way to get DRM-free downloads of temporarily available pre-pubs. It's a hidden option that exists in the site, if you know it's there it takes zero effort to use and no external tools.
It would be a pretty convenient feature for when I'm hiking and don't have internet, but considering the potential for piracy you might want to patch it. Although since you're already selling DRM-free versions of full volumes, it's probably not too big of a deal.
It can: Download pre-pubs as html, download illustrations (jpg files), bypass DRM, bypass the copy/paste restriction (please make this an actual feature, I don't want to manually type out quotations in discussion threads)
It cannot: Bypass the subscription requirement, download parts that have been taken down.
Who should I PM the technical details of the exploit? -
