Synopsis: Meet Sora Sugiyama. A three-year-old boy born and raised in Tokyo, the only thing notable about him is that he can barely remember his past life. And although he forgot much of who he was, he does remember his past life's dream: to live a slow life in the countryside.

Unfortunately, Sora is a frail child. Weaker than his younger brother, and prone to fevers, eventually his mother brings him to a doctor. His diagnosis? Sora has a magic power deficiency. Unlike other kids in Tokyo, Sora's magic reserves are more than his little body can take, and as a result his body siphons mana from the Tokyo air - which is rife with pollutants. His prescription? Have him live in the countryside for a while, until his body can master his mana.

And so Sora's mother bites the bullet and calls her parents to have him live at their house. Sora is elated, both that magic exists and that he can live in the countryside... only for that to fade when he discovers why his mother was so adamant on moving to the city. Sora's grandparents live in a first-degree magic zone, which can be a death trek for those unprepared. It is during these halcyon days that Sora discovers how living at the countryside is really like.

Comments: So yeah imagine Boku no Natsuyasumi but with rhinoceros beetles that are a meter tall and you've got this series. I found this through the first chapter of the manga, which was interesting on its own - it outright references Bookworm, Tearmoon Empire, and Weakest Tamer - but I like the concept of an isekai that brings you to a world just slightly different from the one you came from.

Not totally absurd, like Apple Reincaration, but certainly amusing.

Oh, even better, the publisher is TO books, which means that JNC has a very good chance at being able to get it.

I’d love for J-novel to pick this up. The premise of a sekai fantasy feels refreshing. The reference to LNs I read is quite hilarious. I’m looking forward to support this work with my coins.

Edit: @Torka Do you know if there is also a Light Novel version of this story? Or is it a manga original?
