I am not too fond of Bookwalker. Bad editing, awful typesetting and a god damn unbreakable DRM.
I'm not a huge fan of their service because it's the one that I can't get text to speech to work on, no matter what I try.
...but I want more light novel titles. xC
What do they release in? I can get TTS as long as it's an Amazon book (via my Fire 7) or Google Books.
(Obviously I prefer the no DRM epub, but that seems to be the premium exception here rather than the rule)

Bookwalker has their own app (and you can read the books on their site too). So it's basically it's own DRM.
You can probably do some screen cap stuff to move the text into an app that'll read it TTS, but that's a bit of an inconvenience. Me and another dude floated the idea of adding TTS support out there, and they seemed receptive, but maybe it's not easy / cheap.
So Fire 7 does TTS in Kindle (just a button click?)? That'd be really convenient. My Android doesn't.

Yep, all the Fire tablets do it - it's why I bought a Fire 7 on the cheap, just for that facility (allowing TTS on Kindle books for £35? No brainer!), but I have been pleasantly surprised at how good the Fire tablets are - even the under powered ones.
I've since moved all my reading platforms to that (Moon+ Reader Pro, Google Play Book & Kindle) so I can have TTS wherever I am.
It's a shame the 6" Fire isn't still around as it would fit in the pocket much more easily.

The one good thing I like about BookWalker is they have frequent sales on light novels that other stores never have. Also, there are like half a dozen youtubers out there who have ¥500 BW coupons, so anyone can get several really cheap English ebook LNs when they first set up their account.
Then again, their J-Novel titles are nearly $8 for some reason every time I go there, so I only buy Yen books there.

I'm new to the online LN community so this may be a foolish question. Is there any chance of old LN titles ending up published in English legally? I'll be honest I'd spend ridiculous sums of money to legally get the Maria-sama ga Miteru novels.
-
@dryurimom There is some, but it would need quite the push behind it to get going. Ryoukojima and Infinite Stratos are both older series as far as it goes, though Ryokojima is still ongoing.

Old series are a bit of a challenge, I think JNC hinted at because the materials aren't all there, whether they aren't stored somewhere or they aren't digital yet. I think JNC has had to even get creative with some cover work for stuff like "I Saved Too Many Girls and Caused the Apocalypse".
Seven Seas is publishing True Tenchi Myou. That's fairly old.
That said, Maria is like 39 volumes. I just don't think anyone will touch that unless the page count is short and they can Omnibus them physically.
