What Other Light Novels Are You Reading?
-
@terrence eww a real book 🤢
Jk, I recently finished reading "The Cage" which was a really sad book that I feel everyone should read so nothing like the horrors of those events ever happen again. On the other hand I'm finally about to start reading "Is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon v7" which I bought months ago. Was just feeling lazy so I never started it. -
I finally decided to get Goblin slayer
And boy did it exceed my expectations. I'm currently making sure to take my time reading it.
-
Other than J-Novel, LN I'm reading:
Accel World, A Certain Magical Index, Death March (Both LN and WN), Hataraku Maou-Sama!, Is It Wrong to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon (And Sword Oratoria), KonoSuba, Log Horizon, No Game No Life (Yen keeps shifting its dates, blah), and Strike the Blood. I own way too many LN. :)
WN I'm reading are MagiCraft Meister.

JkxD
It's a nice change of pace. On Halloween night, I'd like to dedicate myself to reading "Magical Girl Raising Project", but we'll see. I put Goblin Slayer V2 on hold for now.

I just got Psycome 3 and 4 (barely read any of 2). I got so many other series to try (Konosuba, Overlord v2-4, Death March, Kubikiri Cycle, Romantic Comedy Wrong as I Expected, Book Girl, Haruhi Suzimiya...).
I tend to like volume 1s, but tough to get into long running series.
-
Physical, English LNs I'm up-to-date on are:
- Accel World
- A Certain Magical Index (currently on 10)
- Death March
- The Devil is a Part-Timer (1 vol behind)
- Goblin Slayer (1 vol behind)
- Grimgar of Ash and Fantasy
- Is It Wrong to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?
- Sword Oratoria (currently on 3)
- The Isolator
- KonoSuba (1 vol behind)
- Log Horizon (1 vol behind)
- The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (1 vol behind because I need to reread the previous volume and been too lazy)
- No Game No Life
- PsyCome
- Overlord
- Sword Art Online: Progressive
I tend to wait until RightStuf has a publisher sale, then buy like 6 months worth of releases for that publisher, so sometimes I'm behind on buying the newest books.
-
@myskaros I wanna read goblin slayer so bad! As for Grimgar it's my favorite in this list so far I'm impatiently waiting for level 7 now. Overlord is a nice read aswell. I'm on volume 7 for "pick up girls in a dungeon" original one. I thinks that's about it for your list.
-
Anyone know if there's a bunch of differences in Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka between LN and WN versions?? I'm sort of interested in that series, but not sure if Yen On is worth my money for this particular series if the plot is the same as the WN.
-
Just about finished with Fire Girl volume 1. It's pretty interesting. I wish they named the new world something other than Nutella though. It's distracting. XD
Otherwise, it's a pretty cool story so far about exploration of a new world with a female somewhat energetic protagonist. -
@aruseus493 Nutella... hehehehehehehe.
What's next, the Snickers Realm ruled by King Rease, "The Peaceful"?
-
I find myself reading "my wife is a beautiful CEO".
The story is actually pretty good, however the pure amount of repetition and "tell don't show" is sometimes overwhelming. It's from china though I think so probably not got a hope of j-novel grabbing it.
That said, the MC does seem a little overpowered out of the gate... then again, it's about the MC supposed retirement years...
-
Just finished binge reading through volume 2 (1-B) of Fire Girl. This is really turning out to be quite the interesting series with a great sense of adventure and wonder.
-
@aruseus493 hmm you got me interested... Is it fan translated, or can I buy the LN ? Either would do but I always have low hopes for fan translation cuz I know they tend to stop translation for months sometimes even years :( .
-
Fan-translated by Nano Desu. 3 volumes (1-A, 1-B, 2-A) fan-translated at the moment with one part per month updated. Would be best if J-NC would pick this up since they'd be faster.
-
@aruseus493 I actually like Nano Desu, since they did grimgar as well. Would be awesome if J-NC picked it up
as well. -
Bakemonogatari, I like it so far
-
Reading Juni Taisen right now. The character I was interested in died in the first battle. :crying_cat_face:
I want to get into Magical Raising Project next.
-
I have 2 volumes of Magical Girl Raising Project, looks good
-
Just bought goblin slayer volume 1 and I'm loving it so far.
-
i wrapped up So I'm a Spider, So What? back on Friday, and I'm glad to say it's more than just a gimmicky title. Reminded me of Hatchet by Gary Paulsen.
-
@tremorc so finished Goblin Slayer volume 1 and am about to buy 2 now. The story was really awesome. Is the spider LN a fan translation or actual licensed translation? Cuz I'm up for anything new.
