@Kamijou-Touma Don't be discouraged. It got good ratings so there's a good chance it'll get a season 2.

                Edited to add:
One of the scenes in the last episode of the anime which I thought was very Totoro-ish style.

I enjoyed it. I really liked that the adaption tried to stay on Earth more then not. It made for a great version of the story.

While I enjoyed the anime for the most part, I found myself disappointed that they felt the need to start cutting content in the later half of the season.

For some reason they decided to cut out Sven's plan to treat them and then either bully them into giving up the entry permit or just steal it while they slept. While not a major plot point, I still feel like this reinforces that Sven is an anything goes person and makes their victory that much better.

The big one that bugged me was them cutting out Kazuhiro deciding to visit the Adventurer's Guild and earn a rank. To me this section showed his growth from "This is all a dream and I have no interest in anything that involves work" to "I've found someone I want to protect, and I want others to know I'm capable of protecting her."

This did make me realize how awkward it is to watch an anime where languages play a part and yet everything is spoken in the same language and subtutles do nothing to differentiate between which languages are being used. Especially when the heroine is supposed to be just learning the spoken language of the anime. Lines like "Wow, Marie, your Japanese was excellent there" feel almost humorous when there's no almost no effort to point out that they've primarily using Elvish.

See, I like that they removed a lot of that. While I enjoyed it in the light novel, I see that as bogging down the story in the anime format.
