I've really appreciated Dahlia in Bloom this last week.

On a sad note. My 16 years 7 months old Jack Russell, Happy Go Lucky (just called Happy), passed away on Saturday the 10th of this month. (Old age, and while snuggling me/in my arms.) While it wasn't anything official, he was my emotional support animal. I'd just started a reread of Dahlia in Bloom and I was near the beginning of volume 2.
This last week the light hearted romance and tool-making adventures have helped me with my emotions. The series has cheered me up, and distracted me when I needed it most. I can't wait for volume 9 to come out in Japan, and here's hoping the Anime gets an English dub.

@PuckGoodfellow00-0 volume 9 has actually come out in Japan (on Christmas Day). We're waiting for licensing to be finalised, as well as time in the editor's and (new) translator's schedules.

I'm sorry for your loss... that's rough.
I recently finished my first read through of the series and yeah, I can see how it would be just the right kind of series to help... serious enough to hold your attention and yet light hearted enough that it doesn't demand your attention.
Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to go cuddle my kitty, who turned 14 last month...
