Can we assume there will be further translations of In Another World With My Smartphone after volume 7? Did not see anything in the release schedule after the ebook release in March.

the typical system at JNC is that after a Volume is fully translated there is a 1-2 week break

they don’t add the release date to the schedule because they have to translate the cover image and approve it.

that is like the last thing they do after part 1 has already been translated.

so the future volumes will just randomly be put into the schedule same day (or day before) the first part goes up.

It could be because other publisher list releases out roughly 8 months at least ahead which includes several volumes for various series. J-NC only lists about 2 months ahead and only the volume being worked on gets a release date after like a quarter of it is translated.

@aruseus493 I get that but then again those 8 month early pre-orders don’t mean a damn thing when certain publishers who shall remain nameless keep pushing back their release dates on certain series without giving a single real concert answer as to why...and let’s not forget when not 1 but an entire months worth of releases are pushed back a week only to throw off everyone’s schedule.
This topic asking will the series countinue isn’t the first and it won’t be the last, and next time it pops up I will give another response (assuming someone else didn’t) but at this point JNC isn’t a new publisher anymore they have passed the 1 year mark, have over 100 books for sale/pre-order, over 100,000 books sold, and have never missed a release date (per amazon). I feel people should give them more credit.
(I know you already know all this Aruseus I am just venting)

@rahul-balaggan As a VERY new user of the service, I have to say that not a lot of information is made available regarding releases beyond the schedule listed on the releases page. I'm not saying that I don't understand that there are a lot of things to be shuffled to make a release, but there is still some question with regard to long-running series. Not having the first part of the next volume listed on the release schedule only seems to confuse the situation even more for new users. I've even noticed a couple of parts of existing volumes which were not listed for the regularly weekly release in the month I've been a member, so still trying to get used to keeping up on the series I'm reading.
I'm not trying to state that there is no reason that people shouldn't trust in the service, but it can be a bit confusing to get used to how things actually work. In the case of one series, I even tried to look up the number of volumes available in Japan just to know if there were more volumes past what was listed on the site because nothing was listed to say whether anything would be available past the current volume. That was a lesson in futility because I couldn't even find the book listed on Japanese book sites using either the Japanese or English titles.
IMO, it's this uncertainty that leads to these kind of posts. In the case of this series, there are currently ten volumes in Japan, but that's not always easily accessible information for other series. There's also never any guarantee that a series will continue being translated to completion (although there's also no reason to believe that it won't).
There will likely always be people trying to find out the fate of the series they're reading. It's just normal to be curious about these things.

We could definitely list events farther out than 1 volume but it'd just be guesses. Sometimes people need an extra week, etc.
Plus we're not able to list preorders on Amazon farther out than 90 days because we're on their KDP program.

@sam-pinansky I'm only assuming to understand the situation, but think something which listed an anticipated release of the first part of the next volume on the site seems like it would alleviate some of the confusion. In this way, subscribers could be aware that a series would be continuing without the concern of being left in the dark.
In my case, I'm currently reading no less than a half a dozen series on the site as they're released in addition to using my monthly credits to catch up on one other title which is no longer available via the site. The only one of those which I'm at a point where there is even a question of the series continuing is "How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord". However, the final part of volume 2 is scheduled to release in less than a day, and there was still nothing on the schedule to begin volume 3 the last time I looked. This is also the same series which I was unable to confirm the number of volumes for the series, so there is still some question in my mind whether there IS a volume 3 to become available.
It's understandable that everyone needs a break from long projects, but something to allow readers to know that someone is still working on the project (even if a couple weeks before the next part releases) would definitely alleviate some stress. I don't think it would be necessary to announce the release of parts 90 days out, and would likely cause more misunderstandings with delays. However, having something on the schedule which indicated that a volume which was coming to an end soon, as is the case with volume 2 of "How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord" and volume 7 of "In Another World With my Smartphone" would likely limit the concerns of those intently following series. In this way, everyone would know that they had something to look forward to.
Lets face it, Japanese have some rather interesting works, but they're also well known for ending series with cliffhangers or unresolved threads. That in itself is reason enough to worry about the future of the stories we're reading without even taking into consideration that something as simple as a translator for a series having any number of issues could cause a MASSIVE wrinkle in the process. Having an announced anticipation to continue a series would at least let the reader know that there is no reason to be concerned about something as simple as a delay between volumes.

There are currently 8 volumes in Japan with a 9th scheduled to come out February 2, 2018

Come on man you can’t have looked that hard “How not to summon a demon lord” has a Wikipedia page that shows how many volumes the LN has.

@pleco_breeder I'd suggest using the japanese bookwalker site, JNC lists the original japanese name on every title's page, so just look for that, looking up the romanization won't net you much info.

I generally go to the Japanese publisher's website to see how many volumes are in print. Sometimes I get lucky and get a projected release date for the next volume.

I know this is probably out of place to be asking, but at what point do titles generally become unavailable on the site? I know that one of the titles I'm reading is only available via purchase, and saw another posting which mentioned that it had something to do with the titles becoming available via ebook retailers. Not a lot of detail to be found regarding the when though as several books are available via both the site and retailers.

@pleco_breeder The prepub usual is taken down (except for the first part) the middle of the month following the release of the completed ebook. After that it's either buy the ebook or wait for the series to be on catchup.

@pleco_breeder just as Mr. Nebeling said other then part 1 a series is removed from prepub the first 15th of the month after ebook publication.
There is also this helpful topic which gives hard dates for series with upcoming expiration dates.
